Chrysler is still focusing on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee and the 2015 Chrysler 200 launch for the 9spd 948TE Transaxle. We have heard no plan of producing more 948TEs for any other Jeep model. This is the first I've heard of a BU. However, ZF in South Carolina may know something about this.
Considering some of the things I've done in my life, I feel very fortunate to be old enough to remember them. And I made it this far without too many regrets.
I remember the Yugo. But the photo made me think more of the older Subaru Foresters than the Rav4. I'd compare it to the unfortunate result of a meeting between a Yugo and a Forester behind the dumpster at 7-11 (maybe with a Suzuki Sidekick peeping at them around the corner of the building).
The Cherokee has a different look than the Grand Cherokee, and this has a different look than both of them. But, unless you've been living on Mars for the past 50 years, you can't look at it and not know it's a Jeep.
I think the Jeep designers are doing a great job of covering the SUV landscape.
While I don't think I'll be in the market for one, I am looking forward to seeing them in person.
I do wish they hadn't called it the Renegade. The name carries a lot of weight, and, just like the new Cherokee, I don't think it is worthy of the name (not to say either one is bad).
I think it's cool too. It'll be a nice little city sur for all the old cities in Europe and Asia with narrow streets. I think it'll sell like hot cakes. I May Get My Wife OR Daughter one
That's cool Scott. Let me know how she likes the new cherokee. We're looking at buying a 300S or Cherokee (won't be my car)... but this little jeep is actually pretty cool looking... a real baby wrangler lol
