Re: All-new 2015 Jeep BU

I'd just like to remind EVERYONE that the year is

2014.

NOT 1980.

That is all.

I'm still having a hard time believing the WK2 is as capable offroad as my WK. For some reason I am hung up on the lack of an ELSD up front on the WK2. I have read in other posts where former WK owners notice a difference when the brakes actuate up front to transfer power to the wheel with traction - apparently a feeling of not having as much power when compared to a WK.

Either way, the 2014 is pretty awesome. I'll most likely pick one up as soon as the information is out on the 2015 - still holding out hope for a trailhawk (one with front ELSD anyway)!!

Re: All-new 2015 Jeep BU

I'm starting to think that the '13 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk was just built to get people used to the name...

Yeah there was (2013 model with ~2000 units made), but it wasn't really that much more capable than an Limited or Overland with ORA-II. The only extra thing it had were rock rails and better tires.

To be honest, I find it unlikely that they make a JGC Trailhawk model at the moment. The 2013 Trailhawk did not sell well (the Trailhawks were often some of the last 2013s on the lot), probably because it was priced in the range of an Overland which was almost as capable and a lot nicer. My guess is that if the Cherokee and BU Trailhawks sell well, a JGC Trailhawk might be reconsidered. However, I doubt we see one until late into the 2015 model year, if at all.

I think it looks fantastic and I almost bought one. If they made a 2014 Trailhawk that is anything like the Trailhawk concept at Moab, I will trade mine in, especially if it is blood orange. If not, I might experiment and make mine similar to last year's Trailhawk.

Yeah, but I'm not sure I have the balls to do it. I like my Jeep and don't want to mess it up.

As in JNAP, or as in you and Jeff? Either would be great, although I want to try to build something myself for once. Or maybe the 17 year old will do it if he can ever get a break from his school work.

Also, apologies for being lame and failing to get the joke.
