Spare Tire???

I had a look at one of these Jeep Renegades at a dealership the other day and something has me puzzled, where's the spare tire?
Is it an option that can be ordered and if so where is it stowed?

The area beneath the floorboards in the rear isn't big enough for a full sized spare but it does look like it's made to hold a tire, maybe a space saver tire?

I have a 2016 Dodge Caravan. Last month I hit a bad pothole, a really bad pothole. So bad that the rim was bent and the tire went flat.
I removed the flat tire and lowered the spare but when I crawled under my van I discovered I had no spare.
Apparently spare tires are becoming an option that you need to order.
Instead they provide you with a small 12v compressor with a can of tire sealant built into it. I saw one in the rear of the Renegade in the showroom.

I've since had a spare tire purchased for my caravan. I'm on the highway a lot and I may need it again.

Re: Spare Tire???

It looks like they make a spare that fits in the floor.

That's what I thought.
If I was buying a Renegade or any new vehicle I would chose to order the spare. I can't imagine not having one.

The spare tire option for my caravan cost about $350 at the time of purchase however after purchase it cost me much more.
The spare tire plus all the required hardware and a replacement wheel cover cost $950. Luckily it's a company vehicle and I didn't have to pay for it.

Re: Spare Tire???

Only the Trailhawk comes with a spare tire. All other models have a fix-a-flat system.

Re: Spare Tire???

I just picked up my Trailhawk tonight. Although the dealer said it did not come with a spare, lo and behold, there it was...

Re: Spare Tire???

The problem is finding something that will fit the Renegade. It has to be a space saver tire. I know Jeep stealership will gladly sell you one for $300.00+.
