Just because I like a specific model doesn't mean I have to like the rest of the line up. I also own a Wrangler Rubicon. In fact I've owned three of those. Let's face it, most of the products Chrysler is peddling were developed during Daimler Chrysler's merger. I am just stating that I don't like the current design direction fiat is taking with its products. If they ruin the Wrangler or GC I simply won't buy another one. I'm not so enamored with any company to keep buying their ugly products just because I like the brand name.

Sure it's choice. But I'd rather see them perfect what they currently have first.

At this point it's a little premature to be using the terms "Renegade" and "Chrysler is making some great products" together in the same post. That remains to be seen.

I'm sure people will take one out for a drive... and as many or more that will buy one will also walk away from it.

I've been driving Chrysler products for a very long time. I've been through the ups and downs they have had and was not really happy over Fiat finally buying Chrysler out. But Fiat has brought a new level of quality to Chrysler that hopefully will help for years to come. This Renegade, even though it is not built in the USA, seems to be another step in the right direction. Some will like it, some won't, but the main thing is it will bring a lot of sales in and that will definitely help the bottom line. I can't wait for them to finally update the Wrangler to get rid of the ugly dated Daimler interior it's had since 2007. The new interior in my Cherokee is outstanding, and the interior in the Renegade seems to be just as good. The dealer near me got a Renegade Trailhawk in earlier this week. It's already sold LOL. Looking forward to seeing how these things sell.

Re: Test Drove A Renegade Today

The Wrangler got an interior update in 11'. It's a nice interior and suits it's intended purpose. A wrangler doesn't need a fancy interior. I can't imagine a 200 interior with drain holes to hose it out. Lol

Re: Test Drove A Renegade Today

You might not like the exterior design a lot, but I'm not sure how anyone could think the Renegade and Cherokee aren't a massive improvement over the Patriot or Compass. They've gone from class embarrassment to class leading under Fiat, and now are showing the best sales increases in North America.

Given the potential buyers I witnessed wandering around a few of the ones on the dealer lot, I think Jeep made a mistake in trying to make the Renegade as butch as it is.

Leaving more Fiat cuteness, and possibly including a small tree [to be planted] and shovel with each one might have been a smarter move.

Re: Test Drove A Renegade Today

The thing here is Fiat is trying to market Jeep to a whole new demographic and hopefully keeping the rest of us around till such market is established. Kids these days like Jiats while us purists are slowly being put out to pasture because there's no longer any big profit in it from us.To me there are only two Jeeps left, the WK2 and the JK. We'll see how long they last.

Re: Test Drove A Renegade Today

My daughter and I think its kinda cute! Or at least cuter than the other sport cutes on the market today. She's still obsessed with a Wrangler for her first car when she's old enough, but this is still cute. I asked hubs if it was cool and he kinda made a pained look, gave a no comment, and walked away, lol.

Although the OP's picture is probably the furthest off road any of them will ever go.
