PS: I saw "another" white KL Limited this afternoon. This time just exiting the Monash Freeway. My stalking of the KL continues

Is this what Milous is saying about the 2015 Dual Exhaust on his 2015 KL Changes Thread?

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

The FJ left the styling wand at the door I think (from a womans POV )

A snippet from the comparison though -

Quote:
'On an undulating freeway, holding a steady 110km/h, for example, the Jeep will shuffle between top and even as low as sixth gear, whereas the Toyota will rarely drop out of top, and never below fourth. But when it does change gears, the Toyota's box falls well short of the refinement of the Jeep, but that isn't a bad thing - it's a decent auto box, the ZF is brilliant.'
And yes, agree - the FJ is not what I would want to drive around in.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

A pointless but gap filling report posted an hour or so ago.

Jeep Cherokee: Melbourne to Sydney road trip | CarAdvice

Quote:
After arriving in Sydney at 5am with nine hours behind the wheel, all-in-all the trip from Melbourne was uneventful.
No s***... - they sat on the Hume for 8-9 hours. Pretty much the most boring trip to be had in Aust and the most boring review of the KL.

A new one surely. Can you reject the sale?

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Actually, forget that. I'm not sure. The Lemon Law doesn't exist in this country which is a shame.

I have a friend that late last year purchased a new MB. First week it was towed back (electronic failure). Second week - the same. All up, it was towed back to the dealership 7 times in approx. 9-10 weeks.

They wouldn't replace it - insisted on fixing it. She was screaming (as you would).

They fixed it eventually but they wouldn't even look at replacement even though it was a brand new purchase.

I dunno. Car purchases and the laws that protect the consumer are non-existent in this country.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Here you go SJ&L , Paul and any others buying the new Cherokee. This is a 23 minute video on the building process of the Cherokee at the Toledo Jeep Assembly Plant.

Even one member of our Aussie "Coat of Arms" helps build it

Enjoy

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Lemon law does exist in Australia as of 1st January 2011. A definition of a lemon is
Vehicle less than 2 years old or 40,000 km (which ever comes first) which hasn't been repaired within 3 attempts (except in the case of significant safety defects, which require only one attempt), or has 10 days cumulative days out of service.
It's 3rd time my car is in with 20 days at the dealership out of approx 1 month (so that is a qualifier already). Not sure if a new transmission replacement is a safety defect, but I think I have a good case here. Will be discussing with my lawyers on Monday

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

There is still not one confirmed case being processed under that law though. There was an article about this a few months ago in one of the papers, that the change on 2011 has amounted to nothing.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

I guess I would be guided by lawyers.... It really doesn't sit well with me a new car that need new transmission... Especially that I got a suspicion mine will the experiment for the technicians as it will be the first one in Australia....
