Have you considered upgrading the radio yourself ? You can do it with the ZIP files from this website

That's why I would probably use it on a highway not Hoddle Street

Well, coming from 1.6 Holden Barina (read "sewing machine") this will be a great step up - when I test drove the Limited it was great to have the kick down power, and I'm not into flooring it/leaving dust - but it will be good for lane merges

Emergency braking is an "in your face" flashing lights and buzzer with a big
"iBrake!!!!" sign flashing up on the middle of the dash between speedo and tacho and if you don't brake it will.
My experience with this is that It is oversensitive ( Or i'm a tailgater)
Assuming it is the same software and therefore functionality as the Grand I must conclude you are a a tail-gater.

I have had this happen a couple times on the Grand (that red BRAKE is in your face isn't it), anyway, just last week it threw me on the Grand. It was right of course. Guy in a ute, turning right... blah de blah.. going about 20km/hr following him - he just slammed on his brakes.

WTF? Just bang - no warning - no nothing. He just stopped. Why would anyone do that?

Anyway, the GC reacted before I did, so all good.

I don't think it's too sensitive (if I think it is the same as the Grand).

I can't wait to get this KL.

There's your mid-12's fuel economy right there

( I'm only having a bit of fun with you here Flattop )

FYI - The Jeep Australia specifications sheet for the Cherokee's 3.2 V6 Petrol indicates an Urban Fuel Economy of 13.9 L/100km; so I reckon that your mid-12's is good in comparison.

But more importantly, CONGRATULATIONS! Flattop on your new ride, it sounds like a great car And thankyou for the Reviews that you've posted here, its very much appreciated. Keep them coming and please post some pics of your TH when you can too

Actually I've had a few false positives as well where the front park sensors start beeping and flashing while I'm driving or at lights for no good reason so I wonder if there isn't some tie in between those and the radar sensor that has triggered the brake warning prematurely.

I cleaned the front parking sensors since and had no issue but they were not really dirty

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Hey another thing I noticed
There are 2 paddles on the steering wheel to control media settings.
Centre right will flick between media sources.
Centre left will change up radio stations on FM but not on AM (strange).

The other issue I had this week was I had to upgrade the baby seat (my toddler is about to hit 4) because the seat was too wide and sat on top of the clips for the two outside lap sash belts. No baby or booster will fix to that spot without this obstruction, I think they widened the squabs on the outside seats and sacrificed the centre position which is not uncommon, but having a baby buckled in means any other back seat passenger has a lot of trouble latching their lap sash belt. This wasnt an issue in my Sorento which had a 10cm wider seat (yes I put a tape across it)

Tinting With Privacy Glass

Has anyone tinted the front and very back windows when there's already privacy glass on the rear ones ?

I'm contemplating doing it but have to find the right company to do it and make sure it all matches, etc - or do people leave the front ones untinted ?

I'm tinting the front driver & passenger windows only and leaving the rear Privacy window and the rear passenger Privacy windows as they are.

I've had both Dealer tinted and "Tint Professor" tints done on previous cars and the Tint Professor tint has always been slightly darker than the Dealer jobs. I've never had any problems with the Tint Professor tints and I've tinted 6 cars through them.

I know that a few Honda's ago that the Dealership offered a Tint that was done up the road from the Dealership at a small Tinting place that I'm sure offered the cheapest tint; but at the time I wish that I had gone to Tint Professor.

No I don't work for the Tint Professor; I've just had very good experiences with them.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

I did speak to someone who suggested a guy in Ringwood (can't remember his name or company off the top of my head) who can do all the remaining windows for $440 - and that he works with about 12 different dealers who basically buy the cheapest film/work from him, which of course they charge on at 200% markup !

How much did yours cost Marty ?

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Hi Paul,

the Tint Professor will do a sedan for around $370. However if you're getting the Limited you'll only need to tint the front passenger and driver windows only as all the other windows come with factory Privacy Tint so the tint for the front windows will be much cheaper.

Not sure of the cost for front windows only, but I'm guessing $175 - $200.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Ah so the windows in the 'boot' section (sides and the back) are all privacy ? I honestly didn't pay that much attention to them, just the back seat privacy ones...that's good news

Now it's to decide if we do it or not or will it be too dark to see anything ?

Re Tint Professor - I read some god awful reviews about them, but I think a lot of it applied back before they got taken over in 2010 (I think that's when "Rick" went and started Happy Tint after he left). There's a TP in Rooks Rd, about 30 metres away from the dealer !
