I did exactly the same thing - took a Limited for a test drive and ordered one on the spot - after some interesting tales the dealer eventually told me that they didn't actually have one meeting the specs that I wanted in Australia. After some more research I realised that the Trailhawk was really what I wanted - sometimes Karma can work for you!

P.S. It wasn't until last weekend that I had a chance to load up a usb stick with music files - up till then I had been streaming bluetooth from my phone and thought that was awesome. I had read that a memory stick gave better music quality and thought that it stood to reason - but now I can definitely say that the difference is amazing - I thought the sound system was great from my phone but the usb option blows it off the road!

Funny, I was after a limited in Cherry Red with the tech pack and there were none in stock in June so I took a trailhawk instead....
The dealer had one arriving 4 days after I sat in the chair to cut a deal.

I don't think I paid much more for the TH but somehow I think I like it more, it's the fine detailing mixed with a very angry looking front end....my bro in law said to me "the front looks bloody mean, I mean it looks like business" (he has the new pathfinder)
I'll never go offroad with it, it's not really one of my hobbies but I expect I'll get good resale on it to someone who does

The sound system in the TH has some decent BASS, mind you they equaliser is cranked to max when you take delivery. I tried Puretones "addicted to bass" track and the speakers really thump it out.
Load it from USB of course!!!

Limited with luxury/ventilated seats has memory seats !

Well I visited our dealer today as we hadn't heard from them about the status of the car, found out the salesperson had the day off (the receptionist thought he was in), and the sales manager has since left the company, so we ended up speaking to the New Car Manager (nice guy) and he said "it's in pre delivery" - so all we are waiting on now is the finance, which should be underway end of the week.

Interesting note - the MY14 model Limited with Vented/Luxury pack has SEAT MEMORY !!! It doesn't say it anywhere in the brochure, and a welcome surprise - it's 3 buttons next to the driver's door latch with "1", "2" and "S" (set) - and considering ours is a Jun 2014 build, we should be getting it !

I was looking for this in the TH when I got it but unfortunately it's not there

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Yeah I think it misses out as you can't get ventilated seats in it (or if you can it doesn't option memory seats) - that's a real bonus considering it links to the fobs as well.

Another question - is there an easy way to completely remove the hatch shade ? In case you had something tall to put in the back while the seats are down ?

I think from memory you can only program 1 position on the fob but maybe that's one position per fob so with 2 fobs you're covered.

What do you mean by hatch shade? the cargo blind? it is removable.

Yes the cargo blind - i sort of tried when i was at Jeep today but couldn't work out how to release it !

Also, how is your numberplate affixed to the front ? When I looked at a Limited at Jeep today, there was a numberplate holder that said "Jeep Australia for Sport/Lat/Lim" and was quite deep - I'm not sure if there's premade drill holes on the front of the car.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

I can't remember pulling this one out but I'm sure I have, the ends are spring loaded into a cup on each wall so you have to push either to the left or right and compress the end and therefore releasing the opposite end from it's cup.
The TH also has little clips that need releasing from the headrest mounts
My old car had a set of cups low down near the hatch so you could stow the blind at floor level when not in use, it was still kinda in the way but not floating freely. Not sure about the TH, I'm about to duck out so I will have a look

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

My dealer informed me today that my fully optioned Deep Cherry Red Trailhawk, which was ordered in early in August, is now due to arrive in 4 months from now! That means that I will have waited five and half months for it!

I'm not sure that I believe them, as I've read in this thread of others ordering around the same time, and their car has been built, and is awaiting shipment, with delivery expected in November. At least I've finally got a VON from them (after hassling them for it for the last 6 weeks), so that I can track it here via MOTS.

Good news on the VON Julian. Email that to Milous and he can start the tracking process. He will PM you when it has gone D1 (scheduled for build) and then after it has been built, he will PM you your build sheet and you can then start tracking it through the thread below.

http://www.jeepgarage.org/f102/custo...les-75844.html

Our GC was 5 months from order to delivery last year. The KL will be 6 months from our order in May until delivery in Nov. At least it has now arrived at Curtis Bay.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Thanks SJandL, I was beginning to wonder if they'd ordered it when they said they did, but if yours is taking around 6 months, they probably did.

I've sent my VON.
