Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Hmm the long delays made me glad I bought a TH basically as it rolled into the showroom, I would be seriously unhappy waiting so long for a car and afraid I would stack my trade in at the same time.

As it is the week I started looking for a new car someone dented my old car in the door, I had it 4 years without a scratch and a week before I trade it someone hits it in a car park... of course that was nothing to what happened to the TH on day 2.....

Good luck with your order, hope it comes in soon

As posted the cargo blind just pops out when compressed, there doesn't seem to be a stowing point, I'll check again tomorrow in the daylight.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

I don't really mind the delay (or perceived delay).

My Honda crazy friend was quite happy to wait 9 months for delivery of his S2000 a few years ago. If you don't want to wait, then your choice is to purchase stock off the floor but you will compromise on how much 'kit' is included.

Julian has ordered a fully loaded TH which clearly no dealership would keep stock of therefore it has to be built for him specifically. Our CRD Limited is almost fully loaded (everything except the vented seats option) but no dealership will have a stock vehicle of that, so we custom order and therefore wait.

I think also with regard to the KL's that it would make sense to hold over an August order for build starting in September and thereby making it an MY15 instead of an MY14. (I think Sept 1st was the kick off date for the MY15)

I'm very happy that our ordered MY14 has morphed into an MY15 built in September.

Half the fun is in the wait isn't it?

Interesting note - the MY14 model Limited with Vented/Luxury pack has SEAT MEMORY !!! It doesn't say it anywhere in the brochure, and a welcome surprise - it's 3 buttons next to the driver's door latch with "1", "2" and "S" (set) - and considering ours is a Jun 2014 build, we should be getting it !
Whoa - great news. I wonder if I will be lucky too. Have to wait and see I guess.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Quite likely Soft - the dealer said they should be on the MY15's and that a few have snuck through on the MY14's...

On the vehicle front, our finance application began today (after a few hurdles) - waiting for an answer hopefully Friday, and once the dotted lines are signed delivery should be next week.

Must say I'm looking forward to this car - it has everything and it's luxurious - and I've never had a car like that.

Excellent. I haven't seen a picture of the seat memory buttons so if you get a chance, please take a pic. It will be some months before I will be able to !

I guess that also means the Easy Entry/Exit Seat option is a extra setting you can select from the uConnect - you can turn it on or off...

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

So keen to take it on a long highway drive - planning on getting our Lab in down to Apollo Bay - what a good test

BTW, does anyone know of any good durable dog protector covers that you can put on the back seat ? I don't want to buckle her into the boot section (not enough protection) but want to keep the leather from being scratched.

It's a WK2 thread but it might give you some ideas with regards to the dog covers. I think Snuke's cover is a good one. If it can cover the backseats of the Grand it will do the KL fine.

Rear seat pet cover for 2014 GC?

I don't allow the dogs in the back of the '14 at the moment, only the '07 which we have no covers on, but the leather is still fine in that. Not willing to test the Nappa on the '14 though.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Thanks SJ....

Another question - what petrol is everyone in Oz running their KL on ? 91, 95 or 98 ? When I got my VW Golf 5 years ago I used to run it on 98 then dropped to 95 and was initally careful about not using 'lesser' brands (Liberty, etc) and sticking to Shell, etc - but in the end, it's what's nearest to you.
