Back from the trip home to NZ and through the intermittent WiFi connections available around the Southern Alps region have been keeping abreast of where our KL is on the high-seas.
I think we are about 4 days shy of Auckland at the moment and are still on track for the Nov 1st arrival in Port Kembla.
Bryan - You had an AMC XJ Wagoneer. That was a classic. I wonder if the new Wagoneer (supposedly being released 2017/18) will pay tribute in some part to your XJ?
Saw absolutely zero KL's in NZ. Did spot 3 WK2's (2014's) but, saw so many WJ's it wasn't funny. So the WJ was the model between 1999 and 2005 and loads of them in NZ. All of them looking schmick as well.
For example, down at the Arrow river - gold panning (as one does - we walked in) - there was 3 WJ's, 1 KK Cherokee (that's a cutie looking Jeep) and also a Wrangler. Oh and there was this black Cayenne but he didn't go very far and didn't want to get his feet wet.
I think the Jeep is perfectly suited to the rugged NZ environment. I missed our Grand Cherokee. We had a Kluger (it is badged as a Highlander in NZ).
Plenty of room - In fact you could swing 12 possums in the cabin of that thing but that's about all we could find as a positive/neutral about it. I will not be unkind, but enough to say, it got us around for the week but it was not the Grand Cherokee that we are used to and there were definitely times when we wanted our Grand so badly.
Matt - any news from you on the brake issue? Are you back on the road yet?
