Oh I didn't try that. I'll be back in a minute.... fingers crossed.

[QUOTE=SJandL;1116307]I did the door trim today - I think it finishes it off very nicely. What do you think?

Looks good - where did you buy the beading from ?

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

BTW. It seems my order has been built and is waiting to be shipped...

How long do they take to make the trip over ?

Only another month or two to go now !

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

No go with the 'destination' voice command.

I had also noted that all reference to VR Nav functionality has now been removed from all sales brochures since the original WK2 '14 brochure where it was advertised but that clearly was a marketing bulls-up in the early days.

Never mind - it is what it is and I'm happy at least that we have POI VR available on the KL. It is a step forward at least.

Softsand - Good news. About a month (30 odd days) on the high seas. With regards to the trim, I purchased it from this US eBay seller. A variety of colours available. You need to purchase minimum 4 yards to do all doors.

[QUOTE=Marty K;1116589]Hi joezep, thankyou for the Vessel Tracking info It appears that our Car is on the same Ship (TARAGO) as yours. Looks like that there are 252 KLs to be offloaded in Melbourne on the 24th November.

That's great news Marty. Soon will be having the pleasure of driving our new Jeeps

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Its official; thanks to Milous I now know more about the build and arrival of my vehicle than what my Jeep Sales-guy does

The Build Sheet that Milous forwarded to me is very detailed and very interesting reading. I think that I've now read it 8 times in 12 hours

Thankyou Scottina06, Milous and all of the great members of the JeepGarage. What a great site

I've just had a look in the Uconnect Manual I downloaded some time ago; if you've got the Uconnect 8.4AN, try "Navigate to ..."

I have it working (sort of). It's my accent (Kiwi/Aust mixed).

I have to wait for the husband so I can get him to test with his purely Aussie accent.

At the top of the Uconnect screen, for the first time I saw the words 'Voice Recognised Destination' and then it stayed on 'processing...' for a while and then it came up with the destination, albeit the wrong one.

I asked it to find Henley Street - it misunderstood and gave me Henry Street... but it works.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

More testing...

I'm having about a 70% success rate with it recognising what I'm saying.

Happy and when husband see's this he will be very happy also because the lack of VR Nav on our Grand is his single bugbear with the WK2.

Bugger, it appears that it wasn't loaded onto the Endurance either! The next boat it might be on is the Tamerlane, which is scheduled to arrive in Port Kembla on the 23rd December, which isn't too bad, considering that I'd become resigned to not having it until early in the New Year.

Ha!,.. when you "eventually" get your Cherokee this experience of waiting will be long forgotten. I laugh when I hear about our American brothers bitching about a 2 month wait :-) (4.5 months for me).

Good things come to those who wait! :-) Happy Christmas mate and I will look forward to reading all about your new (car) arrival in 2015 :-)

How frustrating Julian.
It's so annoying to see it move sooooo slowly on the line. It would be interesting to see just how the whole logistics of the receiving (from the rail yard) and subsequent loading works. Obviously there are things that need to happen that we aren't privy to. Hang in here.

An update on the KL.

I found my key fob. In a hidden place under the wiring loom/harness of the passenger seat that was only reachable by the tips of my fingers, blindly stumbled across and finally hooked out by my little pinkie finger.

Happiness and dealer visit cancelled.

In other news - 1000kms now after 11 days and sweet as. (Kiwi expression )

Fuel economy has dropped to 7.1 (it started at 11.8 upon delivery) so that is a big decrease over the week and am expecting it to drop a tinsey bit lower and then settle.

Start/Stop function got an absolute work-out today ie: every couple of hundred metres ie: Sydney inner city on a Saturday morning. It worked a treat and never faulted. I lost count of the times it kicked in.

Tip: In a crawling line of traffic with stops and starts, if you do not exceed 7kms/per hour between the stop and start, then Stop/Start will not activate. Read it in the manual a few days ago and tested it today.

Transmission - smooth as smooth.

Auto headlights - Fast and accurate entering shaded/undercover areas and subsequently unshaded areas. This is a problem sometimes on the GC but the KL appears to have this feature tightened/calibrated better.

Remote Start - works well.

Qi wireless charging - Have the iPhone hooked up and works well.

Very very happy with the vehicle.
