Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Sorry 'bout the lack of updates, but I've been too busy enjoying myself, driving during the day, and eating and drinking during the night, to post much. Suffice it for me to reiterate that shit I love this car!

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Here's some links to pics of my Jeep on my recent trip; they show a map of the location, as well as a photo:

Limestone Road

Bogong High Plains

The rear window appears to be "magnet" for dust; I had to put the washers on quite frequently!

I've now got over 2,500km on her, for an average fuel consumption of 9.5l/100km. A lot of that was on twisty gravel roads, and long, twisty uphill and downhill climbs in the Victorian High Country. I only spent a short time in low-range 4WD drive though, for the short track up to Craig's Hut, near Mt Buller.

For the relatively flat, straight, trip back home from Jindabyne today, I averaged 8.4l/100km, and I'm quite happy with that.

The ride on gravel roads was quite good, with no rattles, apart from suspension noise. I've yet to hear any noises from the rear seats, or the panoramic sun roof, that some of our US friends have been complaining about.

I've not yet played with Lanesense.

One thing I have to do is apply that fix for the pronunciation of the Navigation lady!

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Well that's a different looking vehicle from the shiny 'pick-up from dealer' pics. Isn't the back of the KL just hideous for dirt and crap collection though.

Looks like you had a great trip and it performed well.

Cleaned it yet?

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Great to hear an update bud, and to see you've been having a blast getting to know the new Jeep. As SJandL said, definitely not the shiny new Cherokee you first showed us lol

I washed it yesterday, when the rain let up for a while. I needed to get the dirt and bugs off, before heading off to Brisbane this morning.

I played around with the settings yesterday and today I've been getting a beep-beep, repeated 4-5 times at a 1-2 second interval, at what I (initially) thought were random times, for no reason, and it was annoying the crap out of me.

However, when one corresponded to a fixed speed camera, and another to one of those point-to-point speed thingies, it's probably the speed camera warning?! I was expecting a voice warning, like the one when you exceed the speed limit by x km/h. Most of the time it went off though, there were no obvious speed cameras?

Julian

Probably school, zones (of which there are more than plenty) and will sound regardless of whether the time for the zone is in effect or not - weekends or not - school holidays etc. They also sound a number of times while approaching an alert area. You can turn it off but you loose the speed camera alert.

Yep, confirmed. I did the same as Matt.
EDIT: Lose not loose :-)
