Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

I'm very happy with the fuel consumption of my TrailHawk. For my 1,100km trip to Brisbane from the 'Gong, I averaged 7.5l/100km, according to the EVIC!

Well, I must be one of those next to take delivery...

Car arrived in Fremantle a couple of days ago so it is all down to how long all the processes take...

Only thing being done to start with is to tint the front windows and perhaps clear UV film to the (factory tinted) rears.

Still in a quandary about the wheels... Seen a couple of cars around now and the polished 18's aren't doing it for me. If they had less spokes I might be happier !

Never had a car with black wheels before but it might work with all the white and chrome on what I am getting...

I reckon black rims would give it a mean purposeful look - on a white car I would seriously consider them. My 2 cents anyway. Good luck

Lots of dodgy roads around here, and that's just our main roads, mostly tar and a few small runs of gravel, and she handled all the bumps and potholes like a trooper. Really happy with the ride and a great choice for driving around this area. Also been blasting out the tunes from my phone, loving the bluetooth compared to my old Ford's AUX cable setup, so much easier and the sound quality is pretty damn fine, and handles my metal tastes as well as it handles some Thelonious Monk, so I'm really happy with that.
Transmissions has pretty much behaved its self so far and haven't notice a lot of the common issues yet, so fingers crossed it stays that way.
Oh and really digging the sunroof, first car I've owned that has one, so enjoyed driving for a while with that back
Now if only I could get a nice set of red and black plates hehe

oh yeah pics, hopefully these come through okay and aren't too big for people

Nice picks and an awesome looking rig. I was getting out of mine in a parking lot the other week and a guy walked up to me and said, "I don'y usually go much on jeeps but man that thing is a beast!" and I couldn't agree more.

I've had mine a little while now and still every time I drive it it is all kinds of awesomeness!

As for blue tooth - yes it's great and easy and better than anything that I had used before - but once you load up a usb stick you won't want to go back to the phone - the sound is so much better. My 19 old daughter told her mother she was worried that I am suffering a mid life crisis because I drive around with the music way to loud for an old person! - "Thelonious Monk" now there's something I haven't heard in ages - off to youtube I go!

Very nice! Great choice of colour

I was thinking of changing my silver on black plates to red, but I now quite like they way they blend in with the dark coloured fascias.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Very nice Deadpool.

Softsand - maybe by the end of the week? Fingers crossed for you.

I had what was the easiest flat tyre the other day. Front drivers side - flat as a pancake but luckily in the carport. Took it off and found a big screw in it. Threw it in the back of the Grand, took it to the local Jax centre and they fixed it up on the spot and within the hour the KL was back on the road.

The TPMS reset within 2 minutes of driving.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

I've clocked up 4,993km in two weeks; shit I love driving this car!

I gave the adaptive cruise control, and the rain sensitive wipers, a good work out on leaving Brisbane on Monday morning. A brief, but quite heavy storm had the traffic slow considerably. However, I just had to sit back and not do anything but steer the car, while keeping a safe distance from the car in front.

Speaking of steering the car, later on in my trip, when there was no traffic around, I tentatively took my hands off the wheel to see if LanseSense could keep the car in the lane, and it could, until it told me to put my hands back on the steering wheel!

My only gripe so far is the Navigation pronunciation; for example the Pacific Hwy is pronounced Patchifick H'why, but there's an update that apparently addresses that, that I'll ask to have done at my first service.

Julian

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Geez, you're racking up the K's there Julian.

Lanesense is cool - except when she gets cranky about that 'no hands on the wheel' business.

It's good to hear you are loving it. It's a great vehicle to be sure.

I'd like to tint my front windows, to match the back windows, which do seem quite dark.

By my reading of the regulations for NSW, all windows, apart from the windscreen, must have a minimum Visible Light Transmission of 35%. So, if the rears are OK, then the same tint on the fronts must be OK? Does anyone here have any experience with this?

Julian

When I first laid eyes on the (white) Limited I didn't like the wheels either, but after having the car for a while they have grown on me. To me they assist with the Limited's (high class) appeal.

I like black wheels on an SS Ute, HSV GTS or lowered Sports Car, but a Cherokee Limited...... well (???). Just my opinion.

If you do put black wheels on the KL I'd like to see the pics please; maybe I might change my mind on them
