A quick Internet search found these as examples - I know the 1st one is a trailhawk but it gives you an idea of the look.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Yes the black wheels seem to work on the second (non-Trailhawk) pic as all the chrome pieces have either been blacked out or are painted white (see grill & roof rails).

For me this is a good look because the black rims suit the deletion of all the chrome pieces.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

I'm an idiot. I've been driving around for the last two months or so manually pressing (and unpressing) the electronic park brake button.

I discovered the electric park brake option in the Uconnect settings today. Now it does it automatically everytime the KL goes in and out of Park.

to me.

I've been meaning to say that my motorway toll tag works fine in the dash-top storage compartment; there is no need to stick it on the windscreen.

That is an excellent tip Julian.

Hadn't even thought of it. Currently stashed in the centre console (because I hate things stuck on windscreens) and retrieved when toll booth approaches.

If only I could ordered a Limited without all the chrome I would have, so a white car with a lot of chrome and black wheels will still look a bit different.

I would have actually preferred a Trailhawk if you could get the vented seats like you now can in the US.

I initially ordered the Diesel for economy but the company I work for gave the option to reduce the monthly car allowance paid but get a fuel card (that was a no-brainer) so economy isn't as important as it was before !

Yeah, I notice that blacking out all the chrome pieces is popular among the SRT owners here. It gives the car that "racy" look I suppose.

I kinda like the chrome; hence why I would buy a Grand Cherokee Summit. But I'm old and each to his own I suppose

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Intruder here...

Wondering if anyone has worked out if the trailhawk front recovery hooks can be fitted to "lesser" models?

I can't say for sure, but I'm inclined to think not? The front fascia on the Trailhawk is quite different to the other models, and even if there were mounting points behind the fascia, they might not protrude far enough beyond the other model's fascias?

I knew it was available, but hadn't set it. After reading your post a week ago, I did so, and will be leaving it on.

I don't think that the electric park brake turns off when you go out of Park; rather, pressing the accelerator turns it off, if it's on?

I'm one of those "old school" drivers who "pulls on" the hand brake when stopped for more than a few seconds (and who also selects neutral, on a manual gearbox), rather than keeping my foot on the brake. I'm now used to doing the same with the park brake switch, after ESS turns off the engine. When the traffic starts moving, I press the accelerator, the engine starts, the parking brake turns off, and away I go. Shit I love this car!

I upgraded Uconnect from 14.20.9 to 14.47.1 a couple of days ago, via the Uconnect Software Upgrade Site, and seem to have lost the speed limit indication on the screen (no big deal, as I'm quite attentive to speed limit signs), with no improvement in pronunciation?

Lastly, would someone mind looking at the orientation of the handle in the boot that lifts the panel to access the spare tire. Mine is like this:

It is offset from being parallel to the edge of the panel, and although it doesn't affect its functionally, my OCD (yes, I know it's not really OCD) is kicking in!

Julian

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

My update is that delivery should be this week so pics and initial impressions will follow soon after.

Looks like if I am to change the wheels I will need a new set of TPMS sensors as they won't easily change out (judging from looking at one on a Grand wheel) and there is no way my OCD will allow me to have a system like that not working...

Being patient to see if i will come around to keeping the wheels but I think that battle will be lost. May as well be a bit individual after all I guess ?
