Here is a picture of mine, yours is defiantly not parallel to the edge of the panel.

So far, things are looking very good - had a call from the dealer to say there had been a price REDUCTION on my car ! Means new paperwork for the finance that I was supposed to sign today but I can live with that. Nice to get a 5% rate too.

Actually, I didn't lose the speed limit indication on the Navigation screen. When I drove to Sydney this morning, once I'd left my local area, the speed limits appeared (so apparently there's some gaps in the "coverage"?).

Thanks.

I'll see what my dealer has to say about replacing it, so that I have peace of mind.

My First Impressions...

Well, after 8 months of waiting, I have finally took delivery of my new car. Mind you, by being delayed a couple of weeks, I was a winner in one way by gaining a price reduction due to a present sale on the Cherokees.

I think the car is great value for money anyway. See the cost of a upmarket diesel RAV4 and what is included with that (not much !). The dealer has been great to deal with so far.

My first Jeep, but not my first American SUV, having had a new Mercedes ML270 and a BMW X5 3.0D in my motoring past.

With the options I have, this is loaded with features and electronics which I am loving. I think it will take me some time to learn all the options…

A couple of things that were supplied I wasn’t expecting were the grocery bag holder and clips plus the netting for the cargo area which I thought would have been extra cost accessories. I also gained (as do all diesel owners apparently) a extra reversible cargo mat…

Not mentioned in the option guide were dipping and folding side view mirrors which are a bonus as was the inclusion of memory on the electric drivers seat (the latter a part of the luxury group - vented seats - which is no longer available here to order).

Car gives the impression it is nice to drive and the auto stop/start is much smoother than the car I have been driving with the same system.

My partners first impressions were that the dash screen (camera display) was HUGE and that the light coloured dashboard stitching is very upmarket. She is nevertheless not a car person…

I’ve only done 20kms so far but this will ramp up significantly over coming weeks.

Photos will be added soon…

Yah Softsand! Another CRD person.

You lucky bugger getting 5k off the price. Good job.

We need pics though.

Good to know Julian. I haven't upgraded yet. I thought I'd take a look at the change log tonight from Sox to see if there was anything specific that related to me (having trouble getting into it at the moment but I have a internet connection issue over the last few days - damn wireless) but is there anything specific that has been corrected and/or added?

I have no issue with V14.29.9's functionality.

Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Woohoo! The more you drive it, the more you'll love it.

I was wondering whether my Trailhawk would have the dipping mirrors, but it didn't. Looks like I missed out on that, and the memory seats, because they came with the vented seats (in Australia), and they weren't an option on the Trailhawk (I would have taken that option, were it available)

So would we have Julian (and it was available as it turned out).

I thought that the Lux option as advertised (even on the dealers vehicle orientation literature that I have), only had Vented seats/Nappa leather as listed. If we knew it also included dipping mirrors (just like on the Grand) and memory seat (just like on the Grand), we would have taken up on that particular option.

to JA.

Oh well - 'tis what it is.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

12,000km update

Hi guys and gals,
it's great to read that so many people are still excited and really like the Cherokee.

I like the car as well, but I wish I would have either waited or had a car with a slightly better built quality.

Still numerous cabin rattles and squeaks, gearbox still rough (even after latest software flash), Navigation still with speech impairment, still can't enter addresses while moving, fuel consumption still too high.

Had a MY15 3.2 as a loan car a week ago and it is a positively different car. No cabin noises, Navigation clear announcements and loads quicker, menu has different options and it is possible to enter addresses while moving.
Reverse camera better image quality. Achieved 9.5 litres on average with the V6 and I pushed it around a bit. Gearbox smoother.

I average 7.5 litres according to the car computer, but it is actually over 8 litres with real measurement. I still find this too high for the Diesel.

I hope Jeep is bringing an update for the Navigation, and I'm sure the dealer will get the other issues eventually under control.

Do you guys have any issues with the windscreen wipers?
I have the second set of wipers rubbers installed, but they still don't clear the screen very well.

Looks like if I am to change the wheels I will need a new set of TPMS sensors as they won't easily change out (judging from looking at one on a Grand wheel) and there is no way my OCD will allow me to have a system like that not working...

Being patient to see if i will come around to keeping the wheels but I think that battle will be lost. May as well be a bit individual after all I guess ?
I picked up a spare set of brand new Trailhawk wheels/tyres that somebody had taken off to fit 8" wide rims. They had only driven from the Jeep dealer to the tyre shop. The tyre shop had removed the TPMS sensors and switched them to the new wheels, so it is possible. They said just cracked the bead on one side to get them out.

I got a new set of sensors (5) shipped from the US for just over $100, so there is another alternative for you.

Greg

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

That's such a shame marcimark re: your early build. Hope they they can at least sort out the rattles and squeaks for you.

No issue with the wipers on ours. They do a great job.
