Matt, I'll PM you because I'm unsure whether I'm allowed to cross-post from another forum.

It's instructions on how to take the pad apart to accommodate a bigger phone. A bit radical though - it involves some grinding...

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

dropped the car off today for the transmission re-learn, they gave me a sport overnight, noticeably punchier than the TH but revs harder.

worse for the dealer, I paired my phone and the bluetooth never dropped in an hour of driving. I emailed the dealer as they blamed the phone but I bet they are not keen to change the header unit of the Uconnect system!

Don't know if 2015 is different but I've never had any phone or voice recognition issues. Phone, Bluetooth, VR works a treat. The Uconnect even talks to me when I receive "text" messages :-)

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Spent 2 hours with the service dept last Friday going over the Uconnect issues, they flashed an update which changed the map version but not the Uconnect version, phone still disco's so they've ordered a head unit.

Interestingly the transmission learn has imho made the shift from 2nd to 3rd on an uphill even worse. It's a specific turn that I make every day that shows it up, a long downhill then a left turn into a side street which has a massive uphill climb.
I probably do 20kmh on the turn and the car is in 2nd and changes to 3rd too soon and the gearbox lumbers and wont kick down unless you boot it, then goes straight back to first. It really drives like a cow now and I'm not happy.
Actually the sport felt more punchy than the TH, probably different gear ratios.

I have a similar situation. It is entirely understandable as the car cannot anticipate how steep the coming hill is or how long it goes on for. I just change down manually to the gear that I need to get up the hill before I go around the corner.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

So a week or so back I took the TH in for the UConnect unit replacement.
They had it for a day and the new unit was DOA so they had to put the original back in, I made a bit of noise about the tranny still not being right but I have to admit it's smoothing out a bit now (still not great but better than before).
It will be back in the shop when the replacement Uconnect unit comes in I'm guessing a week or 2 from now.
I've had the car about 11 months now and I would give it a mixed review.
Great tech in the car which works well about 90% of the time, fuel consumption is over the rated with me getting between 11.5 and 12.5 mixed urban.
Drivablility is great though, I still like driving the car much better than the Kia Sorento (still miss the 7 seats though).

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Hi all,

We picked up our white Cherokee Limited on the 15th of May! (Took me a while to find Aus forums)

It's an MY15 but built in Dec 14. Sunroof, tech and convenience pack (petrol as they didn't have any TH or diesels in stock).

The Sydney dealer was pretty good. I traded in my old Skoda Octavia VRS, with the rego being due at the beginning of May, so they provided a Compass for a week and a KL Sport for another, while we waited for the car to arrive.

So far so good! It hasn't hit 1000 kms yet. Already updated the Uconnect software myself, but still finding out about the car! Not that keen on the polished rims, but I don't see that when I'm driving.

Hope to glean lots of info from this thread! (Actually only up to page 39)

Roger

Welcome Roger Your Limited is exact same as ours.

We picked up ours in Dec 14 and to date have just ticked over 6,000km. Nil issues or concerns to report and we love it.

Enjoy the car and enjoy the Jeep Garage Forum here too

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Hi Roger

Welcome again - sorry, I was a bit quick this morning (busy day) - glad you found the recall link for your vehicle and none are outstanding.

Here is another link for you - it is on this site but you may not have found it yet. It is the TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) link provided and regularly updated by Milous for the MY14-15+ KL Cherokee.

http://www.jeepgarage.org/f76/tsb-an...kee-71873.html

A TSB is not a recall. It is a fix provided by FCA that corrects a particular symptom that a vehicle owner may experience. If you don't experience the symptom then the TSB is not applicable. In addition, not all TSB's are applicable across the range of engines/options and some are only within particular VIN ranges and further to that, domestic US vehicles only or sometimes International vehicles only.

There are also RRT's - Rapid Reponse Transmittals. These are TSB's but of a higher priority.

Then there are the Recalls which are mandated by the Governmental safety authority and you can check those via the link I gave you on the other thread.

So, the link above is always handy to have bookmarked but, remember, just because there is a TSB for a particular issue, doesn't mean you have the symptom on your vehicle. The old story holds true - 'if it ain't broken...'

Congrats again on the KL and keep us posted as the K's go by. We do tend to go quiet on this thread at times but that's because we have nothing to moan about.

Unlike those WK2 (Grand Cherokee) guys ... oh wait - I have one of those as well and I still haven't found anything to moan about after 2 years.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

Thanks for the links and info! All very helpful!

We also looked at the Grand Cherokee, but it wasn't for us.

On another note, do people use 91RON or 95RON in their Cherokee?
