Who told you it takes 3 months on the ship? It takes about 4 weeks on the ship and added to that, say 10-14 days at Prix Car for Australian compliance (sometimes less but on average) and then it is delivered to your dealership.

Also just adding, if you upgrade your membership to a level 3 (it could be a 2 but you can check on the terms when you do), then if you get a VIN number from your dealership, then you can PM Milous on JG and he will add your vehicle to his tracking list and advise when it has been loaded and expected date of port of delivery.

Thanks SJ & L - and in regards to your last post about 3-4 weeks on the boat, that may be true as well - I've had 2 different dealers in Melbourne tell me there could be a 3-6 month wait (but that may be because the Cherry Red doesn't get ordered very often) - and I'm not going to jump into a car sooner just because it's available but in the wrong color !

Deep Cherry Red is a regular colour PJ within the Jeep colour range regardless of model and should not add any further than normal wait time to your order. I have an MY14 DCR Grand Cherokee for example and experienced no extra delay in its build or shipment because it was DCR.

It tends to be the interior colour choice that can delay an order. Say for example you have chosen a light beige interior, then that would I think add a bit of a wait time.

I agree wholeheartedly about preferring the wait to gain your colour choice rather than jump into one that has already arrived but not your preferred.

The wait though goes fairly quickly and in the long run is worth it.

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

I have got a Jeep! Not......
Picked up my brand new Cherokee Limited on Friday. Drove it over the weekend and lived it! Even got up on Monday with a smile on my face and wished for more traffic jams, so that i can spend more time in my car whilst driving to work.
Start the engine remotely, well as one does. Car is warm, get into the car, turn the key, engine starts, message comes up "transmission service.......", put it into drive "D" flashing and my brand new car not moving..... (Same happened when picked up the car, leaving the sales person embarrassed and car to be reset again in service department... The story then was its reset itself into factory mode.
Anyway after 20min, turned everything off, locked the car. Unlocked and started the engine again, warning light on transition is on, but now it drives. Arrived to work, shut down, restart and the warning is off....
Returned to dealership, told today they can see there is a fault, but now waiting for an answer from US to what to do.. Looks like 2 days wait... Is it only me lucky like that?!

Re: Australian MY14 KL Cherokee thread

what can i say! we picked up about 5pm from city jeep melb, stuck in peek hour traffic doing between stop and 40 k's over the bolte bridge and up the tulla(got upto 70km/h) to the ring road then between 80-100 till we got home.
7.5 l/100
then turned off and waited 5 minutes and went to show to the kids and had gone into "SHIP MODE" no locking doors or centre screen or odometer. im thinking great here we go not even 100 k's on the clock and problems. google "SHIP MODE" and find a service bulletin
http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0804913g.pdf
fixed in less than 5 minutes.
can't get the grin off our faces
Garry

copied from another forum ^^^^^
we had ours for 2.5 hours when this happened. has been perfect since, just gone 2500 k's tonight picked up 26/6/2014 march build.

Wow 7.5 is pretty good considering they say the average is 10 - are you in a 3.2 or 2.4 ?
