Stupid people will pay it. I could have had one for under MSRP, but I have no desire for a 2 door. I really considered the Charger HC though before I decided to build out the Jeep.

Now, the Jeep HC will be tempting. Not sure if I'll be able justify swapping my 'custom/self-built' Jeep HC though.

Re: 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee TrackHawk

Don't get me wrong, would love to have a Jeep HC...but there is no way I'm playing games with smug dealer assholes that act like they are selling air and water to live because they have a rare vehicle.

About a $15k markup for Hellcats now over the 392 SRT models. Transfer that to a Jeep and you'll be looking at mid-to a little over mid- $80k base. Add an option or two, tax/title/reg....you'll be over $90k easily. I think it's easy to say there will be less than 5000 made, so that's maybe 2 PER Jeep dealer in the USA. Bigger dealers will get more than 2, just like Vipers and Hellcats now. So yes, this will be hard to find and supply/demand will drive markups. That's how a free economy works.

I will say NO ONE is paying $90k, or even $100k for the other 2 Hellcats now. Place in Davie, FL has had a couple for MONTHS. These dealers will continue to sit on them and then reluctantly drop them in Sept when 2016s start to roll and they won't be able to get a 2016 if they haven't sold the 2015. Come mid-end of September there will be quite a few M6 transmission 2015 Challengers to be had. They won't have buyers because the original orderer wanted an A8, no one will pay the markup, and the dealer will need it gone to be eligible for a 2016.

As cool as this Jeep may be, I'm just thinking $90k for what I currently have but faster is just not logical or worth it. We'll see.

Re: 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee TrackHawk

90K would still be a bargain compared to the competitors like BMW X5M, Porsche cayenne Turbo, MB GL63 AMG, RR sport SVR all with less horsepower... If someone were to give me any of those vehicles I would still take the cheaper jeep hellcat without hesitation.... But I could be biased because I have never owned anything else ;-)

Re: 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee TrackHawk

Anyone have an idea how they'll get another 15hp out of the "regular old SRT" exhaust, cam, tuning? Does 15 more hp even make a difference?

Re: 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee TrackHawk

That's only about a 3% HP bump...combination of tuning, intake, exhaust, etc...the motor probably isn't capped out for its displacement, probably not super difficult for the engineers to squeeze a little more out of it.

Or just pencil whipping...who's going to pull the motor out and put it on an engine dyno?

Re: 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee TrackHawk

15hp isn't enough to goad me into buying a new SRT, but 707 might do it. Time to sell a couple kids.

I'll wait and see for two things: price (real price) and availability...both of which I expect to be ridiculous.
