CLASSIFICATIONS OF INJECTION MOLDS UP TO 400 TONS
The following contains a brief synopsis of the various mold classifications and the detailed
descriptions of each mold class. Again, it is our recommendation that a MOLD DATA SHEET (an
example of which is in the back of this Guide) be included with each request for quotation.
CLASS 101 MOLD
*Cycles: One million or more
Description: Built for extremely high production. This is the highest-priced mold and is made
with only the highest quality materials.
CLASS 102 MOLD
*Cycles: Not exceeding one million
Description: Medium to high production mold, good for abrasive materials and/or parts requiring
close tolerances. This is a high quality, fairly high-priced mold.
CLASS 103 MOLD
*Cycles: Under 500,000
Description: Medium production mold. This is a very popular mold for low to medium
production needs. Most common price range.
CLASS 104 MOLD
*Cycles: Under 100,000
Description: Low production mold. Used only for limited production preferably with nonabrasive
materials. Low to moderate price range.
CLASS 105 MOLD
*Cycles: Not exceeding 500
Description: Prototype only. This mold will be constructed in the least expensive manner
possible to product a very limited quantity of prototype parts.
Scott - it was a joke, although I am curious to see how many they sell for the '18 MY Hellcat. Especially if it's a 1 year run with the new model in 2019. I keep bugging all my internal FCA contacts and will keep you guys updated when I find out more. My money is on a public release at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
The Jeep Wrangler Pickup Will Debut in Mid-2018, Trackhawk in 2017
At the LA Auto Show, Jeep CEO/guy with truly excellent name Mike Manley said that we can expect to see the Trackhawk at the New York International Auto Show in April. While he didn't confirm that it will be Hellcat powered, he did say that there is enough of a difference from the regular SRT Grand Cherokee that both can co-exist peacefully. Like a Scat Pack and a Hellcat.
The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, Manley said, will not replace the current $65,000-plus SRT version of the popular SUV, which has a 6.4-liter Hemi V-8. He said there’s currently “space for both.”
“I don’t see any reason to stop our current Grand Cherokee SRT just because we’ve launched the Trackhawk, because they’re going to be very different vehicles,” Manley said on the sidelines of the Los Angeles Auto Show.
There's a shutdown at the Kentucky plant that I'm going to do soon (union tradesman). It's for a major retooling for that Jeep pickup I believe. On another note, what is the exact model year for the next generation Grand Cherokees? I've been in the market for a 14+ Jeep SRT but at this point I'm wondering if I should just wait for the new body style.
Yeah that's a ways away, my 06 Charger is getting long in the tooth. Is it still pretty much certain that the 6.4 will go bye bye on the next platform? Thus leaving the Hellcat as the only high performance offering?
Sucks that they're waiting until April at the NYC show to unveil. I'm guessing they probably don't think they'll get enough PR with the Detroit show being where everyone launches. So much for only 2 more months to find out about the goods.
