Spend less than u make and don't look back. Nothing wrong with wanting more so long as u keep that equation in check...my first JGC was a '97 Laredo SE 2.5l in-line 4 banger, then I could afford a '02 Limited 4.7HO w/ the Bose, then a '14 Summit 5.7l and now a '15 SRT...fairly common path for JGC lovers...

Congrats and enjoy your Laredo...u r off and running

Sure they can. If they do it right it will be worth it. If they don't get it quite right there are still those who will buy it for one reason ... the $150,000 price tag. The key to reaching that audience isn't a great vehicle, it's a good advertising campaign. They could even sell it for $300,000 and wait ... we'll give you a second one for free. Just pay additional fee.

Dealer network sucks. etc. etc. At $83,500 you can get a well equipped leftover BMW X5 V8. Much better fit and finish inside and out, awesome dealership, zero maintenance for 4 years, and it's faster on average. 0-60 in 4.5 is a conservative number. Does it look as good? No. Is it as exciting? No. But that's not the point. The point is that FCA saying the Jeep is a bargain is a joke. $65k for the $83K listed Jeep here is a bargain.
I'm starting to feel the same way. Currently looking at MB for the wifey and dealer support and overall build quality seems so much better.

It's interesting as I'm sure a large majority of the Hellcat buyers are in a similar mindset - hopefully they get it right.

My wife and I are in the market for a luxury SUV for a weekend/fun vehicle. I'm currently cross-shopping the GLS (550/63), X5 (xDrive50i or X5M), Land Rover RR, or the upcoming HellCat. They're all in the same ballpark (100K'ish +/-) and I'm a Jeep guy from previous vehicles so I would like to stay with the brand for our next purchase but I must say their dealer network in Metro Detroit is lacking.

We decided we would wait until the 2017 Auto Show in January to do our "shopping" as everything for next fall will be revealed by then - I just wish the fit/finish & dealer service was on par for a $100K vehicle with Jeep. Time will tell and I can't wait for January.

If you are looking for a luxury interior then the GLE or GLS and RR are really looking great right now. The X5s have a new NAV screen which is nice but I feel like they are in need of an upgraded interior. My wife has a fully loaded GLC and it feels like a much more expensive car on the inside. I am super impressed.

I completely disagree. At that price point there's way more people who want that German badging if anything for the snob appeal. The Jeep SRT has always been marketed as a rough around the edge one off American performance SUV that was the cheaper alternative to its ritzier German counterparts. A working man's version. Personally, I think they're starting to get away from that image by pricing too aggressively. It took Cadillac years of their V division to be taken seriously when being compared to the Germans. Now that GM has crept its pricing of their V line to approaching the price point of the German competition their sales have tanked, even though on paper they're a better "value."

You're spot on. There is nothing wrong with the Jeep GC interior, but when you're playing in the $80k+ market, things like seats with 10+ way adjustment is expected, and although the electronics are great [functionally] compared to so many competitors, they're also looking dated.

If I had to choose based upon performance alone, the X5M would be the way to go, or if drive-ability were my only concern, the Cayenne is fantastic (although getting long in the tooth at this point). Even the X5 50i, which is what I just about bought, offered performance and a nice interior, lots of bells and whistles including active suspension, torque vectoring, HUD and all LED lights, but I actually prefer the attitude the Jeep SRT has over all of the European brands.

No, it's not the fastest, nor is it the most comfortable. I'd say it's about equal in terms of reliability, but I love the fact that I can drive down the highway and just blend in to all the other JGC's and at the same time whoop the occasional Mustang or Camaro's butt from a stoplight. It's a grin inducing suv - something I didn't get with the Porsche or BMW.

And owning an American company based in the midwest, although selling globally, the Jeep is a better fit representing who we are.

If you really save up your $$$, and then some, you could get a Hellcat Jeep SRT AND Grand Wagoneer for only $250k. And to think I bought my first Jeep SRT that had a base MSRP of $39,995.
So the GW will be well north of 100k??

Jeep just said "eventually" they want to move the GW high level model into the 100k plus. But starting out it will start out in the 55k-65k area.

Thought the Wagoneer would be under 100, but the Grand Wagoneer would push it up over 100 with options.

Just like you can option an Escalade over $100K easily.

I'm not sure what people are freaking out about. I've heard the price would start around $80K....and that's basically with Milous said.

So.... options and TTL on a $80K gets you close to $100k. That's math. What's the surprise?

For me, the surprise is this will directly compete with Range Rover. If that's the case, I hope they really up their game for the GW. I've been excited to see what they do. The RR sport HSE is pretty legit for $70-80k. All the bells and whistles.
