6.1 sea foam?

Hey guys this is my first post, but I'm changing the oil on my srt this weekend and I've heard people doing the sea foam treatment, put a can in the gas then 1/2 in the oil then 1/2 in the pcv line, I'm just a little hesitant. Has any one done this on the 6.1 before?

You can do the brake booster line rather than the pcv line. Little easier since the hose is longer. Yes it has been done many many times. No issues just don't pour it down all at once on the vacuum line. If your not comfortable just do the oil and gas tank. How many miles on your rig?

It has 90k on it and I'm in the process of changing all the fluids on it now and so far it looks like the previous owner took pretty good care of it. I will probably do the sea foam just before its next oil change.

Ya if you do the oil.. have to change it within 80ish miles. Only kinda weird thing with seaform is when you try and start it the first time it will take awhile for it to turnover but that's normal.

Re: 6.1 sea foam?

Haven't done it on the Jeep yet, but did it on my TBSS several times and other vehicles as well. I've gone as far as 200 or so miles with Seafoam in the crankcase before changing it w/o issue. Shouldn't take that many miles to knock out the build-up, but I didn't get back to it as soon as I'd hoped.

Re: 6.1 sea foam?

I'm not an SRT guy, but I've used SeaFoam in every car I've ever owned, including my 500hp GTO and swear by it. There's no danger in using it. It helps to have a friend hold the throttle down a bit to keep it drinking, otherwise it'll die real quickly. Let it soak for a little while, then start her up and ride her hard!
