Re: Build my own srt8

I have heard the heads on these engines are pretty good, so I don't plan on doing much but maybe down the line I will port and polish the exhaust ports. I wil swap in the 6.1l springs and possibly the pushrods though. I am hoping for 400 to the wheels 50 Hp loss through drive train.

Re: Build my own srt8

Yes! exactly what i was looking for. I have the moduflex wheels so I will black those out and paint my calipers. Is your jeep lowered to srt8 height or is that stock height? The last owner on my jeep just put on brand new tires so I am reluctant to change those. Why waste perfectly good tires? Maybe later down the line I will swap them. How much did you buy your bumper for? Have you done something with your headlights, they look nice?

Looks to be lowered and if I'm correct he has the Stillen headlight covers.

Re: Build my own srt8

It's stock height. I guess the angle of the picture throws it off. Those are stillens, and I bought the bumper on eBay for $400 shipped

Re: Build my own srt8

I had someone on craigslist who was going to sell me the front original bumper for 350 but he ended up selling it to someone else. I found one for 399 plus 200 dollars shipping on ebay, but its made of fiberglass, so I am not sure if its any good. What do you guys think?

Re: Build my own srt8

dont do fiberglass, it cracks easily. there was a guy on ebay, bumperamerica i think was the name of his store...send him an offer for the bumper, if hes got it. He was pretty good with a friend of mine, price wise

Re: Build my own srt8

I don't know about the transmission anymore. I'm reading alot of trucks are blowing up the transmissions real quick. But there are also many ram 1500s with the same trams that are supercharged. Henessey (I know) also does a supercharger upgrade for the 1500s and they say the transmissions aren't a problem. What do you think?
