Do any of you daily drive your SRT8?

I see the same people around here (Baltimore) with their SRT8 grands...

I can only assume they are daily driving them.

I always felt like the DD viability for an SRT8 is a little low. Just because of cost of ownership and wear and tear.

someone set me straight.

Re: Do any of you daily drive your SRT8?

I dont see much more wear/tear or maint. costs on a SRT than the regular wk. Other than like tires.....or if you like the stock brake pads...LOL

Re: Do any of you daily drive your SRT8?

I dunno, i mean... there isnt one of us here who would put "economical" on the top of our list. I just think daily driving a machine like the SRT8 would be cruel and unusual punnishment to your jeep and to your wallet.

I know the HEMI's require all synthetic fluids where as the 3.7L and 4.7L don't. It seems like everything on the HEMI's is more expensive (including the 5.7L's). 16 spark plugs, all synthetic fluid, recommending 89 octane gas (or 91 for the SRT??), etc etc. I feel like even between the 4.7L and the 5.7L there is a noticeable difference in maintainance costs. I dont know much about the 4.7L's though.

Re: Do any of you daily drive your SRT8?

I DD mine...... 53K on it now. Running 93 in it all the time gets a little pricey but, I didn't buy it for the MPG's that for sure. I do get about 53 smiles/gallon though.

53 smiles per gallon....I like that Harry....

It just depends...I don't see anything wrong with driving a SRT8 as a DD...

Re: Do any of you daily drive your SRT8?

I'd think that an NSX would be more practical than an SRT8!

at least gas mileage wise.

Re: Do any of you daily drive your SRT8?

Mrs. Gottspd drives the minivan, so I don't get (have) to.

The NSX def. gets better gas mileage, but it's hard to bring both kids to school in it.

Besides, I've put all this effort into making it sound great (Corsa should be delivered later this week, Volant installed this past weekend), it'd be a shame not to be able to listen to it on a regular basis!
