fan shroud trim??

has anyone ever trimmed down the fan shroud?? I just put in the killerglass and you cant see the damn thing because the shroud is to damn big, I was thinking about trimming it down to the top of the built in supports and maybe putting a custom plate over the top. just wondering if Im the first to do this or if someone has and has pics of the results, thanks
