So, I have this road on my way to work that's 2 lanes and stop lights what seems to be every 1/4 mile. I never get anyone lined interested in a little 0 - speed limit challenge. Well....almost never. Today I saw the rear of a CTS and from a distance, looked like it had some good size meats on the rear. 3 cars were in the right lane pulling up to the lights, so I gassed it so I would be behind the lone CTS in the left lane. I saw the driver glance in rear view, but he looked 60+ and didn't look like the guy who was interested in putting the gas anywhere near the floor. So the light turns green and he gases it liberally, but no where near a hard launch...I gassed enough to stay on his rear and not crunch his tailgate. He glanced again and you could see his  that there was a Jeep still behind him. At this point, I was wondering if I was following the 550HP V or the older 400 HP version. Right about then, I saw a hesitation, a puff of black smoke our of the pipes and an ass wiggle only seen on a fat chick running after the ice cream truck or a High HP 2 wheel drive grasping for traction.
I had it to the floor boards and I pretty much felt like I stepped on the brakes instead. That car took off like a raped ape! (Albeit some carbon build up)
I pulled up next to him and he didn't even look over to give me a winning grin, thumbs up or anything. Nice car. Tool for a driver, but at least he got up on it. I bet the car was a bit happier too after blowing all that soot out of the exhaust.
Note to self......Unless supercharger or twin turbo is installed, do not challenge CTS-V!

Now throw me the $$$ to do it!

I thought my pure driving skill would have surpassed his 550 HP and 2 wheel drive!
You'll see first hand on June 19th what that is all about!

Food for thought man. JG does not condone street racing. We like our ride and if we must race we take it to the track. No thread that is considered illegal street racing will be tolerated and members please remember the JG membership policy. Speed and Drive safe and make it home to your family.
First and final warning.

It's called leadership by example. Trackin??? And yes it is. Its everyone's forum so if one person screws up then someone which means everyone and anyone has the right to give a fair warning. I just don't have the permissions to erase or ban anyone. Ha. Test the mike. Oh yeah I went there.:slapfight:

My neighbor just got a 2010 CTS-V. When he breaks it in he's going to take me for a ride. He ordered some sick $800. Intake and some pully. OMFG he traded his 07 vett for it he also traded his 07 escalade for a ML 450 hybrid. I didn't know MB made hybrids. LOL and he has a 335 to drive to the train station but it just sits in the driveway since he got the CTS-V.

Brian- This last Saturday at Bremerton SPEEDWAY not streetway (LOL) I posted my first 12's, not my beasts first, but mine. I smashed the first twelves the from night before of 12.96 with a 12.86 first run of the morning. I follow with a 12.772. This is my first race with Mopardragteam.com (Slvrltng John was there as well) ours were the first jeeps to race with them as well. Before my first heat I wanted a Mocha so I walked to the concessions, as I was walking back to the pits a brand new 2010 CTS-V was sitting in tech getting inspected. My dream car! I was super excited! So I go talk the guy and it turns out hes waaaay cool, hes 70 at that. He is there to flog it, no niceness, really ready to put it to it. I asked if we could would he run me and says "of course, what are you driving?" and I say a Grand Cherokee. He wanted to laugh but again he was really cool. So he asks what I run and I say my last was a 12.772 to which he gets very excited and really is impressed. Well we never got to run because I was competing and he was test and tune so I couldnt cross over. But Every time I ran he was at the line taking pics of me waiting, staging, and launching. He really was fond of the beast. Now here is the kicker, he was a decent driver and very fast....... 12.79's!!!! He gave me mad props and was appreciative of how excited I was to post better numbers than the car of my dreams! Sorry its so long winded but Im still pretty impressed with how my Beastly Bitch ran that day!

It was more than likely the new 550hp CTS-V. You can tell by the bubble hood and a much wider body than the old one.

Unfortunately, i was unable to get up to the front!

I would like to see it on a track vs the Jeep. After my SRT experience, I am SHOCKED at how fast you can drive a Jeep through a corner. Faster than any of the SRT's - the Viper.

Awesome car though. My buddy has one and they are sick. Too bad it looks like an old man car :) hehehe!
