I don't think you would want it, I cut the cracked piece out tonight so it would not expand and head up the bumper. So now I'm missing a softball size chunk from the lower lip. You can't see it unless you get down and peer around so I guess thats a plus.

Re: how does the SRT do in the snow?

Sorry about that bumper man, that sucks. I busted mine up last Thanksgiving before coming here...it has been in the shop getting fixed since I have been gone, as well as the new stereo.

Re: how does the SRT do in the snow?

If people are worried about the front bumper on an srt, its no lower than a sports car which I see many on the roads during snow storms all the time. What happened to Downstate's bumper would prob happen with any regular car that ran into a big chunk of ice. I was thinking this question was more about traction, with the srt having so much HP. As far as getting stuck in the snow, I would think with the srt traction control and all time 4 wheel drive there should be no issues as long as the driver takes it easy on snow covered roads, and doesnt try and go on unplowed roads with 2 feet of snow on them. Common sense.

Re: how does the SRT do in the snow?

Greetings

This is more of a parallel post. In Yellowknife, tho it's at the end of the northern road system in the central Arctic, we do not get much in the way of snow. Only with this recent so-called globel warming have we had much snow. The problem I have when I drove my SRT8 last winter was the cold. At -40C and change, the tires do not grip all that well even with the nanny gear turned off. My Dodge truck has a lot more traction and more appropriate tire compound.

All the rig would do is make a nice vrooom sound and spin the tires.

Regards

Re: how does the SRT do in the snow?

At lower temps certain tires perform horrible because of what they are made of. "Snow tires" dont just have different treads they are made up of a different compound. Can make a moped go great in the snow with the right tires. Lol. I did it for two years when I was younger, put a dirt bike tire on the rear of my moped and drove all winter even on trails delivering my newspaper route. My buddy has Blizzaks for his VW GTI turbo snow tires and the car drives unreal in snow, and thats front wheel drive with alot of power for the size of that car, another buddy has the same Blizzaks for his rear wheel drive mercedes CLK and it drove better than my WK last winter with the crap tires I had on it. You need the right shoes for the job.
