Re: how does the SRT do in the snow?

I previously had two GC's with 5.2's for the motor, gas was unreal driving just to work and back about 40 miles a day mostly highway. Thats why I actually looked for the 3.7 I have now. I didnt need the power of a V8, but getting an SRT8 is a different story, its such a great car and the numbers beat alot of exotics off the line and quarter mile, and the price tag is 1/4 the price.

Re: how does the SRT do in the snow?

^^^ Thanks. It looks basically like the SRT8 without the front and rear srt bumpers. But mines lowered more than stock srt's and I have the srt dual exhaust from the rear axle back, tips exit below my Laredo bumper. Oh, and I dont have a 6.1 either. Lol. Driving next to SRT8's on the road I feel like a poser, but driving next to other WK's I feel great and get alot of nice looks.

But thats why I say If I were you I would get an 08 SRT8 and use the money saved to mod it out, lower it, exhaust, CAI, tint, maybe a programmer thing. So when your next to other SRT8's yours is much better. hehe

Re: how does the SRT do in the snow?

thats sounds like it would be nice to look at if i were in a reg WK or even if i were in an SRT8- just knowing the fact that this person (you in your WK) went out of his way to mock it similar to the SRT8. im one of those people who hears an exhaust and i immediately look around left and right to see what im hearing. haha but not that puiny small engines who just sound like lil honda civics- that civic sound makes me frown. especially when it hiccups haha. back to your build up... do u have a designated thread with pictures of your entire whip? id like to see it.
before i fully dove in to buy an SRT last week- i had initially in mind to put SRT front and rear bumpers on a newer overland than mine(my current car is/was a 04 overland) that way id still be trail rated** and yet have somewhat **looks of the BEAST**. was looking into a 08 overland for that build up. but i would have much to do interior wise finding front and rear seating- ive read somewhere that someone has tried an updated SRT8 cluster on a WK but not everything worked- like speedometer would show but the oil and RPMs wouldnt move. exterior wise besides the SRT bumpers id get the side kit and SRT exhaust of course lowering it too. not to mention having a lot of engine work/tweaks. all that would be projects an a half since i work over 50 hours a week (only get paid for 40 hours but im a building manager, i cant just do what i want anymore or have time to work on my own car as much i would as a teenager or even a few years ago)

anyways not to prolong my post but big ups to you again and if u do have a thread with ur whip as a whole- id def check it out.

cheers bro

Re: how does the SRT do in the snow?

I will def do a write up of my WK so far with alot of pictures. All I have been doing so far is doing write ups here and there with everything as I do it. Some in the how-to section. My stereo took up alot of my time, with building a false floor for my amps which is one of the few I believe to have done this in a WK. If you plan on lowering it then forget about the trail rating thing, over the summer I went camping and had to go on dirt trails with my Jeep and it was hell, bounced around and was afraid of banging up a rim. As it is I hit a pot hole awhile back really hard going over 40 and bent my front passenger srt rep rim and im surprised its holding air still. When I first bought my WK in October of 08 I never heard of the srt8, so when I came across a different Jeep web site and saw one I instantly luved it. So far I have done the following to my WK, in no specific order but trying to remember first to last.

SRT Pedals,SRT Grill,Mopar Ground Effects Kit,K&N CAI,Magnaflow Catback(now changed),SRT Roof rails then deleted those and plugged the screw holes(cleaner look IMO),SRT Rep rims,Painted calipers Red,Tinted front windows,Debadged everything except for the Jeep on the rear cargo door,HID Lows,LED Fogs,Dual LED turn/parking front lights,LED Interiors & Plate,JL Audio Stereo system w/false cargo floor and ran all new wires,Soundproofing up the ass,Stillen headlight covers,SRT Eibach lowering springs,Painted front upper sway bar Red,SRT8 Dual Exhaust.

I always wanted to do a page on Cardomain.com. Im not sure if there's something like on this site I could do to show what I have done to my car so far. I have tons of pix I can post of it all. I am very cheap you could say, and was able to stretch my money along ways doing alot of searching on ebay for good deals and holding off on things till I got a good price. Everything I have done does not come close to the cost of a used cheap high mileage SRT8, actually way way below.

Re: how does the SRT do in the snow?

i was reading some of your threads and i did notice that you mainly had informative threads on how to's. really displays pride and joy in more ways than one. i was actually hitting everyone of your visual mods threads to get a peak of what it would look like as a whole- hahaha again nice SRT8- i mean WK..heheh no pun though, i think thats a compliment an a half for you. cheers bro

Re: how does the SRT do in the snow?

I always try to give some usefull info. It doesnt prob seem it but I spent alot of time just standing back at my plain WK and wondering what I could do to make it stand out just that much more from the hundreds I see daily. This is my first vehicle I actually luv and care about. I like spending time and doing mods to it, but im also not foolish enough to go wasting money on it that could be saved. For every mod I do I seem to put twice that money in the bank for a rainy day. I'll say it again with pride, im prob the cheapest bastard on this site and pinch every penney I make.

Re: how does the SRT do in the snow?

switch of the tune...

i was looking at a 2008 with 28k miles for $34,000.

out of no where i catch wind of a 2010 with 539 hundred miles on it for 40,095.

heres the catch. it was a GM dealer across the street and not the Jeep dealer im/was working out a deal with. i instead head over to GM talk it out and dropped my 7,000 right then and there. the way i see it, i aint gonna pass up a 500miles SRT8(basically brand new) for 40,000. i think thats a steal and i ran with it. im just awaiting the title. but i basically just bought a 2010 SRT8!!!

im excited to take it home tomorrow!!! finally the search is over. btw you know the color is BLACK*
