Looking to upgrade this year

Hello,

I currently have a 04 WJ Special Edition with 182,000k. I'm not sure how long I left, before I have to get another vehicle. This year, maybe, as I'm having to keep getting things fixed(i.e. radiator). I want to get a 2010 STR8 with 30-40k on it. Price seems to be in the low to mid 30's.
I've read about the reliability and people using them as a daily driver. Those threads seem to be from 2009 or so. Just curious about any current SRT8 owners that use their Jeep as a dd.

I drive about 300-350 miles a week as I have a Commercial Cleaning business with potential for mileage to increase. Would it still be safe to purchase one with a potential for increased mileage?

Thanks for your time.

It all depends on how often you are willing to feed it...the Hemi is a thirsty beast.

Think Outside !- No Box Required.

Well, I feed my little thirsty V-8 now. Might as well stay consistent. Or is the SRT8 even the thirstiest?

Re: Looking to upgrade this year

extended warranty will help a lot.- just in case something mechanical malfunctions or breaks.. even interior radio and temp control and window switches/motors etc are covered with full extended warranty coverage.

besides that, gas will be the biggest investment weekly/daily/monthly/yearly.

after you get over all that, then the mod bug comes in and will take away some more money for that house youre saving up for! haha jk!

either way, driving a SRT8 jeep is worth every penny.

Re: Looking to upgrade this year

btw - i switched from a V8 overland. and i was getting 9 city and 14 highway...

so the SRT8s 8 city and 12 highway rating is not much of a difference.

Good, about the same mpg.

Who has a good extended warranty?

Since, the 2014's are coming out, will there be a price drop on 2010 or do they retain their value pretty good?

Re: Looking to upgrade this year

i did warranty online with chrysler. you can call and find out how much you want to cover and for how long.. etc.

about the 2012's and up they have refreshed the 2014 exterior and interior more so than the 2012,2013's. the 2010 however is still in the 2006-10 group but the 2010 is the latest year to have one built. depends on knick knacks but a low milage 2010 has managed to retain good private resale value, not soo much a trade in ive seen. but it depends on a lot of things under the sun.

edit- mine is a 2010 with 17K. a lil over 3 years

Can you just get an extended warranty on any used SRT in like the 09-10 range or does it still have to be under factory warranty or anything like that?
