The Jeep Acted Funny Today

So I double park on 15th Street to set the phone up with uConnect and I put on my hazards, turn off the lights, and shut off the Jeep. After I finish pairing the phone, I go to start up the Jeep and it wont start. I turn the key, you hear it try to start and nothing happens except all the lights (on the dash, and the outside lights (h/l, fogs, parking lights) flash, also the Mygig Flashes a white screen. So I take the key out, open the door to draw out the power so the Nav is off, say a few curse words, then try again. The Jeep then does the slow crank start, it did the same sound Klutch does when he thinks "uhhhhhhhhhh" , then the Jeep fired up.

After it fired up, I got a Service 4WD System message on the EVIC.

Any ideas?

I think my starter is going, this isnt the first time the Jeep didnt want to start and did a slow crank but it is the first time all the lights flashed like that.

Re: The Jeep Acted Funny Today

sounds like a warranty concern

I am sorry I dont have anything better to add... without codes or having the car any more would be nothing but letters on a screen and not be worth anything.

Was there a black WK Overland close to your jeep when that happened?

Re: The Jeep Acted Funny Today

Battery? Mine would sometimes take 3-4 seconds to start before I replaced it. Sometimes I would get the airbag light/service 4WD etc warning messages.
When the battery went on my old 4.7 WJ, all the dash lights started flashing.

Re: The Jeep Acted Funny Today

He still have a "new" car. A battery should be able to sit in the cold for 4-5 days with out no problems.

Get a new battery. It will fix all your problems including the 4WD light.

Re: The Jeep Acted Funny Today

It sounds like the battery BUT it SHOULDN'T be the battery as your truck is what like less than a year old? I still have the stocker and its sat for over 2-3 days and started no problem.

I know we have different crank amperage requirements and all, but your battery should have no probs yet haha, good for at least 3-4 years under normal conditions. Starter could be it, or wiring as mentioned above. Dealer plug in should solve the problem though, keep us posted! Curious to hear what it was.
