I'm paying $77.00 on the SRT8 for insurance, it shows up on Geico as a Grand Cherokee nothing about SRT8. I'm 25 but looks like I need to get married to get insurance a little lower just kidding! lol.

Dude I got Geico and they asked me what was the trim level. I had to confess that it was a SRT8.

Omar might know more than me, but I'm pretty sure Joe's insurance only went up because he's getting a newer vehicle. The power rating of the standard Hemi WK already lifts it into "sports car/gas guzzler" classification(whatever it's called). I doubt the extra 90 H.P. caused a blip. He's moving into a newer vehicle with more options and amenities, so it went up a little.

Edited from Joe's info.

Really? Jump on Geico and see if it shows up as SRT8, just seems low to me seeing as this thing is basically a sports car hiding out in a Jeep body.

I mean they have our VINs so its not like we can hide the fact we have them lol.

It will keep going down like you said, just have to stay away from speeding tickets!

You're getting a 2010 right? Make sure it's not under recall, some are for an issue with the passenger side airbag, they are not even letting them leave the lot.

Re: What kind of payments...

SRT Jeeps are listed/rated the same as a regular Jeep and not high performance or ultra high performance. Maybe since the vehicle is new and the cost go into account? Ex. my wifes insurance on her Lexus is more than my Jeep I'm guessing becasue of its value.

Yeah they asked me over the phone but like you said, I checked online and it says "GRCHER"

Yeap stay away from the speeding tickets. Actually I dont care if I get the ticket, as long as it is not in NY. LOL Points from other states do not transfer.

And yes I ordered a brand new 2010. And yes mine was affected by the recall. It just got to the dealer today. LOL

Oh yeah. Whether the term is used on the paperwork or not, the insurance world considers SUVs to be a wagon and/or minivan. They usually have 4 doors and their history is centered around families and easy driving. Much of that goes into the formula for figuring insurance rates.

Re: What kind of payments...

Hmm if thats the case I might go with the SRT8 Jeep to keep my insurance rates I have now. A Mustang would cost me an extra 100 bucks a month I bet. When I was 21,22 with my used V6 mustang with its whopping 150HP I was paying like 2400 a year, it was insane.
