If you guys dont mind me asking what kind of payments would someone be looking at on a new SRT8? Im paying 565 a month right now since I had no trade in and put no money down for a damn 4.7 Laredo, payments are almost up, im thinking if I can get 10k trade-in I should be able to keep my payments around 560. Do SRT's usually go for sticker price?
i saw on jeep's website that they are offering $4000 customer cash and $500 for owner loyalty on the srt8. their incentives often do not apply to the srt8. you could get a nicely equipped srt8 for about $40,000. Take $10,000 off for your trade and you're at $30,000. Add in tax, title, documentation, your interest rate and you're probably somewhere in the $625/month range over 5 years.
The payments will vary. One person may get one kinda deal and another person will get another kinda payment deal. There are different factors to consider when buying a car. Interest rates pay a huge factor as well.
You also are forgetting something important. You may be able to afford the SRT8, but can you afford the increased insurance? and gas? Don't over do it. If you can't afford a brand new one, then get a 07-08 SRT8.
I put down $2000. and was paying $430. a month for 5 years and 8k balloon. but not w/o the balloon I'm paying $615. for 5 years for 09 limited with Nav 3.7. Sticker was $40k. I got it for $26k + $2500. for extended warranty. (bumper to bumper till 5 years 75k miles)
A lot of times the SRT's don't have as good promo's. I think Jeep now has 0%. But my dealer lowered my so called set apr % for balloon finance thru jeep to make up the difference in the warranty discount for buying the extended warranty.
TODAY, and I emphasize today, because the incetive plans change. Currently there is a $3000.00 incentive on the SRT8, plus a $500.00 customer loyalty incentive.
Before I took delivery of my 2010 SRT8, it was a $1000.00 customer loyalty incentive, but it changed before the delivery date.
If I can get payments in that range I might go for it. I have like 4 months of payments left on this then I'll see how my credit and money situation is but im tired of watching video's of SRT8's, I need one in the driveway.
"Uncle Sam" wants you to remember him! Don't forget about tax.
I got my GC for $36,900+3874.50(10.5% sales tax...ouch....highest in the nation)+$1129.50 for gap coverage and 7/70 extended warranty coverage= $582.00 per month 72 months 0% interest. My numbers may be slightly off because I am going on memory.
Depending on what you put down your payment for 60 months should be in the 600's to mid 700's.
I put about a little more than half of what Peter did and my payment is in the mid 7's (dont have the papers right in front of me). Same interest rate too. That I remember. LOL
You must have bought your house twenty years ago or you put a shitload down. I am looking to buy a house in the northwest burbs. No shot at a $500 mortgage even in this market. More like $1200-$1500.
Yeah my most expensive pymt I've ever had. My altoma was $320. mo. My 00 sentra when I was 20 was $180 a mo.I love my jeep. Only thing I wish I could change at times is the engine. But IMO I'm 65% for options 35% for power since I spent 90% of the time in rush hour traffic to and from work.
Yup... If I make large purchases like a major appliance, car, or anything tangible I don't pay sales tax. Like PC Richards, Best Buy, Lowe's, Home Depot I don't pay sales tax. Some places require it has to be delivered to the Indian Reservation but they don't enforce it.
Oh and in my payments about 3500 of my remaining lease payments are rolled in. Thats why my payments are 730 instead of being in the 600's. I really wanted the SRT badly. LOL
My 565 doesnt sound so bad right now. I did the math, I can get a basically fully loaded srt for like 42k after incentive so with my trade-in and like 2k down I should be able to get into the 500's. That is if I can get 10k trade-in on an 05' Laredo. I'll wait to spring and see how much I enjoy 0 payments and if I feel like taking on almost 600 a month again.
If you go to the below site enter your zip code it will show what incentives Jeep has right now for your area.

the cost of living in large cities is just not worth it to me. Plus you have NO privacy, dirty air and dirty cities...no thanks! Ill stay here in ******* land where i live 5 minutes from work....can piss of my back porch and breath fresh, clean air. Its a quality of life thing for me.....
That's my next plan. Cash out and move in the sticks. My GF wants to move to Long Island City, Queens, NY and were looking at a 600k mortgage. I'd have to get rid of the jeep and she would use polublic transportation cause she works in the city. And that's for a 2bed 1.5 bath. Where I can have a mini mansion 45min away for that much. IDK
Joe I don't know how you do it bro. Living smack in the center on Manhattan NYC. I like to hang out there but I like to go home at night. Even 30-40 floors up you still hear sh*t going on street level. I love the Idea when I come home I can pull in my driveway, get out and walk in the house. God Bless You and Fabs!!!
$730 a month for a car is expensive (least for me). I guess its relative though, if you have the money why not? If you struggle to make bills then its not a good idea.
Did you find out how much more your car insurance is going to be?
This is why I put the srt8 out of my mind. The srt8 was too much when I bought my limited, if they had the current incentives two years ago I would be driving an SRT8 right now.
My insurance went up 40 a month from 179 per to 219 per. 20 year olds are frowned upon. LOL. But I have been on the insurance since I was 16 and it has gone down every year. Also living in Chelsea in Manhattan doesnt help the insurance also. haha. The insurance company asked me if it was parked in a indoor garage though. Which I said my current one is parked in a indoor garage, so why wouldn't I park it indoors?
So anything 'decent' in Nassau County, Long Island is going to cost you $500k with $10k per year in taxes. Yeah, it's expensive.
So to put down 85%, you're looking at $400k+ and 35% is like $180K. I'm sure for $180k I can get something AMAZING in the sticks and my mortgage would be under $1000. Right now, mortgage is nearly $2800 (with taxes included).
Here's the thing -- I can make 6-figure salary here in NY where the same job 'in the sticks' is under $65k so I think it evens out at some point.
