Re: New 2017 compass sport

Hey all,

I ordered my redline TrailHawk last Saturday, haven't heard anything from my dealer yet, but I noticed a new Jeep Compass listed in their inventory on their website ("in transit") with the same specs as mine. I was 99% this was mine, confirmed when I called jeep customer service, they said they are getting ready to build, all the parts are there. I'm excited! Although I have no VON from the dealer, I have a VIN! that's a start.

Re: New 2017 compass sport

Awesome! I ordered the limited two weeks ago, -and i got a vin ao im able to get tracking on here! It currently in d1 stage meaning its scheduled to be built! Maybe they previously ordered that teailhawk and it just so happens to be the same as what you want so theyre giving you that one! So you might get it earlier then some, since ive seen some compass' hit dealer already!

Re: New 2017 compass sport

My dealer just called and said he has four Trailhawks in transit. Seems like they're running Trailhawks pretty heavy for initial U.S. inventory. Can't wait to test drive one.

I saw a few at my local dealer tonight. Any info on invoice pricing yet?

Re: New 2017 compass sport

Your dealer should be able to give up that info to you. My guess would be around $1000 under msrp for one in a middle price range. KBB and other sites still have the old model listed, not the new '17. The new model isn't even listed on the Chrysler Affiliate Rewards (supplier discount) site yet.

Re: New 2017 compass sport

This was hard not having to negotiate a price. Here the msrp for the limited model is 36,895 unc freight and an air tax, i got the moon roof which was roughly 1600 so my total msrp was roughly 38.5k i got the vehicle for 34k all in no fees or anything. Now im sure i could have got it for less but at the time i had no idea what the invoice price was. I assumed 1k below invoice aswell. Maybe i could have got it for way less, but oh well it is what it is atleast im not paying full price haha

Re: New 2017 compass sport

Test drove a new Compass Trailhawk today. Very nice! Much more comfortable, and quieter than our '08 Compass Sport. Interior upgrades are nice, with more padded panels, and all the electronic bells and whistles. Wasn't happy it had Auto Stop/Start, especially for a 4 cyl., but it can be turned off. It defaults to on every ignition cycle. Salesman said this is a common complaint across all models with this "feature". He said there's rumors of a software update to allow a default off setting. We'll have to wait and see. The cabin is pretty roomy for the overall size of the vehicle, but so was our '08. Handled nicely on city streets, and some open stretches. It's not a race car, but I found power more than sufficient for normal driving conditions. Suspension took the potholes endemic in our after winter streets smoothly. A lot of the design cues come from the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee. All in all, we were favorably impressed with the vehicle. Our only complaint of note is the rather poor visibility out the rear window through the inside rearview mirror, obstructed by the rear seat headrests. The 7" screen view through the rearview camera makes up for this when in reverse, but doesn't help when driving forward. You really need to rely on the outside mirrors. The '17MY will only be produced for a few more months, and the '18's will go into production later this summer. Our dealer has several Latitudes in transit, and that is the trim level we're interested in looking at, so we'll wait to get into one of those.

Re: New 2017 compass sport

My new '17 Compass Latitude will be at my dealer Monday. It's being brought in from another dealer on a swap. It's equipped just like we wanted to order from the factory. Can't wait!

Don't know for sure, my wife hasn't let me behind the wheel yet!! But if it's any indication, she's lovin' it. We'll do a little road trip this weekend, so I'll have more to say about it next week. In a way, it's a lot like our '08 Compass, built like a tank. But it's much quieter, and the ride is extremely more refined. I wouldn't take it off road though, front air dam would get busted for sure. The Trailhawk had a much better approach angle. The electronics are simple, but adequate. We have the Uconnect 3 w/ 5" screen. This package has the heated seat and wheel controls under the screen, with buttons, so they work without digging through menus, like with the the 8.4" screen in my GC. My wife's old school, learned to drive on a stick shift. She likes it this way. To be continued.....

Re: New 2017 compass sport

The Compass inventory in the D.C. metro area is lacking and many of the models have weird configurations. I've only seen one fully loaded Limited but a few decent Trailhawks. You might want to order direct; takes about 5 weeks to receive it.

If you haven't already, check out the Group Buy section of this site. 6% is a great deal that can't be beat. Not sure where you are located, but it may be worth your while.
