I was going to try the ms109 but used the vp instead. Cant remember the difference? Is it the ms109 or the vp that is the non oxygenated? I just used my regular tune for 93. The vp took care of the knock, but i didn't do anything with the timing. That will be next Saturday hopefully(if the weather is good). My AFR was right around 12.3-12.6 with no changes. My understanding and what i was told is i should have more in it with some timing changes running the vp? I hope....lol
All these fuel names are confusing. The MS109 is made by VP. I think it's called "Motor Sport" 109, and you are correct it is non-oxygenated.

Using MS109 with no revision to the tune will not hurt anything but without adding timing, you wont see any benefits. (unless your 93 octane tune is really bad and is pulling timing )

As for the oxygenated fuels, I have never messed with them, but know for sure you need a revised tune to use them.

There is a great tuner that stops by the Garage from time to time (Jersey Boy) when your ready for a "race tune" give him a call.

Re: 11.842@113 Personal best.....

MS109 IS oxygenated. It's the highest oxygenated Unleaded fuel there is. That is why most people's AFR's go up by running it. Usually you need to richen up the WOT fuel a little and definitely add some timing.

Ouch!!

I stand corrected. Thanks H.

I thought Q16 was oxygenated and MS109 was not. Oops!!

Re: 11.842@113 Personal best.....

Motorsport 109 is made by VP Racing fuels and is the highest octane unleaded fuel available. Research Octane is 109 Octane, R+M/2 (Pump rating method) is 105 Octane. It is oxygenated and I've had really good success running it in in a variety of vehicles. The tune needs to be adjusted to really take advantage of it. The Octane level of this fuel is so high that you can actually over advance the timing and lose power so you need to know what you are doing when making timing adjustments for it.

I think Brian is getting C16 and Q16 mixed up. C16 is not Oxygenated but Q16 is. Both are leaded and have Research Octane numbers of 120+! Most guys running big boost will run one of these fuels.
