I made it today to Etown on my wife's request
I had told Joe I couldn't make it because in the morning I had my son's promotion in Jujitsu and then we were going to my brother in law's surprise birthday party.
So my wife called me when I was at my son's MA school and she said "we need you to take Alex somewhere until 3:30 so we can get everything ready for the party" At that time it was like 12 noon, so I asked where can I take him until 3:30? She said "I don't care where.. why don't you take him to the track?" I said "well let me think about it
hmm... OK sure why not".
So I called him to wish him a happy b-day and I told him "common bro, let's go to Etown and you can drive the jeep down the 1/4 mile, that's my gift to you on your b-day" He said "cool, let's do it!"
So 1/2 hr later we were on our way to Etown, so we got there like at 2PM and on his first run he got a 1.111 reaction time lol but he ran a 12.8, then I schooled him a little better for the tree and on his second run he staged by himself, with no help from the track and he ran a 12.7 beating a Firebird Firehawk that I think ran a 13.5.
BTW, this was his very first time he has driven my Jeep ever, first time he has driven a V8 car and the first time he has gone down the 1/4 mile
. He said that the adrenaline rush was just amazing during the first run especially, on the second run he was more calm but still he said it was a blast, now he wants an SRT
I took a crappy video with my cell of the run he beat the Firehawk.
Here it is.
Ohh yeah and that run took place like at 4:10 LOL, so we got a little late to the party but he wanted that 2nd run bad, so what am I'm going to say...
