Angry 07 JGC Won't start. Has Power but won't turn over.

Hi everyone! I have a 2007 Grand Cherokee 3.7 V6 that won't start. When I turn the key nothing happens. The car has power and I check the battery and it's good. The starter was replaced a in December of 2014, the alternator was replaced in July of 2014. The ignition was replaced last summer from a recall that was out. I had the jeep in a garage several months ago when I had the same problem and they replaced the wire to my starter and it was running good until now. I check the starter relay and it was good, I also tried to flash the onboard computer by disconnecting the battery for :30 and then turning the key to on and turning the headlights on then off and still nothing. Sometimes after the Jeep has sat for a while it will start up no problem both by key and the remote start. Anyone have any idea what could cause this to happen? It's driving me crazy! Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the garage.
The small wire on the starter solenoid is known to give problems. Did you mess with the connector already?
Do you hear a faint click of the starter relay? If not, the problem could be the relay, or the park/neutral switch.
Did you try to start in Neutral?

Thanks! There was a little bit of corrosion on the wire so i cleaned it up and was able to get it to start. I put some grease on it to prevent the corrosion and it ran fine until a while. Now again today I go to start the Jeep and nothing. Doing the same thing as before and won't start. That wire seemed chintzy, could it just be a bad wire and need completely replaced?

If you have a volt/ohm meter, you can check for continuity of the wire. Did you also try to start with the transmission in N or while messing a bit with the shift lever while starting?

Any chance there is an aftermarket anti-theft device on the system, ignition lock, etc? Many of those are crap...

What kind of grease was used? If the connections aren't extremely tight, some can melt and run down into the connection just enough to prevent getting enough to start.

Transmission interlock corroded, etc?

I'd definitely get a cheap VOM and check the wire at the solenoid. Might want to pull it and if you see any corrosion at the connectors, just replace it.

I messed with trying to start it in N and with the shifter and got nothing. Not sure what type of grease it was as my neighbor was the one who applied it. He checked it out and was able to get it to start after messing with the wire again. Should I just replace the wire and try that? Any one know where I could order one?
