Cool 2002 Grand Cherokee

Hello,
I am looking to buy another Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 4.7. It has 192k on it. Any thoughts, are the 4.7 as good as the 4.0 litre??
Body is in great shape no rust, is there any problems with the v8

thanks for your help

Re: 2002 Grand Cherokee

I've had the 4.7L in a 99 and 02 GC. Traded the 02 in for a 14. I never had a problem with the 4.7L engine in either of the previous two GC's... rock solid.

Re: 2002 Grand Cherokee

I can't see any reason why you wouldn't if you're doing routine maintenance to take care of it.

I had about 55K miles on my 99 and 140K miles on my 02 when I got rid of them.

I've also had the 4.0L and 5.2L engines. I most definitely feel the 4.7L is better than either of those.

I also think the 02 MY was the best of that generation.... so if you buy an 02 GC with the 4.7L you'll have the best of both worlds.
