BOBBLING NOISE IN REAR 02 JEEP WJ

Hi guys...a woman who loves her JEEP
Have a great mechanic! Can not find reason for bobbling sound mostly in RRear but sometimes sometimes simetrical. If road is bad can go on until I hit a smoother road.
Has something to do with wheels going down a drive way lip, or uneven road. Very prominent at 15-30 mph. Can't hear at faster speeds. Sounds like ball in a bucket?
OMGOSH the new parts...shocks4 , sway bar links and bushings, rear upper arm control, both rear axle seals, tire are all matching,
When I go over a manhole cover it sounds like it drops with a bobble sound.
Jeep is well cared for...noise is quite annoying!
HELP GUYS...GOING BROKE

Welcome to the garage.
Not sure what a bobbling sound is, is it like a rattle? Was the noise there before changing out all the mentioned parts? The rear lower shock bolts can give problems and cause a rattling noise. Also the rear upper control arm center pivot ball joint can cause noises when it is worn, but i can imagine that the mechanic checked it when he changed the control arm.

Well....bobbling is like a bunch of tennis balls in a plastic bucketI don't know another way to describe it. Not a rattle. And, just had rear upper arm control ball joint replaced last week! Upper arm new as well. Rattle was not there before hanging all the new parts. Mechanic keeps blaming it on sway bar links...but they too were replaced and noise stil there. It's something with suspension or shocks. I will get him to check shock mounts! Thank you so much.
Can't believe new spring coils, new shocks, new sway bar links, and bushings and I still have A sloppy, noisy ride.
I will up date when I get it back to mechanic hopefully next week.
Much appreciated

Re: 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee RWD

Hey there folks...had a bad bobbling sound and lots of side to side movement.
Was literally.......no pun intended.....DRIVING Me crazy.
Replaced rear sway bar with a 1" recommended by Kolar. What a nice guy and a terrific price. If you have a GC WJ with a rear stability problem...and feeling every bump. Ya gotta get a 1" rear sway bar from Kolar!
It's the best think I could do. 100% improvement. Mechanic said factory sway bar was like a coat hanger!!!! Useless....... Wonder why Chrysler??????

The rear sway bar indeed looks like a spagetti string, does almost nothing. No idea why jeep invented it like this. I still have the spagetti thing, because shipping costs and taxes are killing overhere.
Good to hear that it rides nice now. No "bobbling" anymore?

Re: 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee RWD

Nope!!!! No more bobbling noise. Also, the integrity on the ride is back....stability.
Another part-s that were replaced were the sway bar links . Those little things make a huge difference.
I know the gas mileage sucks.....there are millions of them ie, not worth much, but they are a comfortable ride when taken care of. THEY FEEL SOLID ON THE ROAD!!!! And if you match option for option to other vehicles you get a lot!
I do enjoy driving my WJ
