Re: 2005 jeep grand cherokee

Welcome to the garage.
Do you have a scanner to check the live data? No more fault code(s) shown?Does the MAP value with ignition on, engine off equalize the local barometric pressure?
I donīt know which engine you have, but it can be that the idle air control setting must be relearned. Maybe the wrong MAP value changed the injector pulse. Disconnect the battery for some minutes and try again.

Re: 2005 jeep grand cherokee

How are the fuel trim figures? Is it trimming too much up to make it too rich, or is maybe a wrong sensor input the reason for the PCM to inject too much fuel?

Re: 2005 jeep grand cherokee

Have you replaced the TPS? My jeep with the same engine was doing something similar and running decent when cold but puffing black smoke and running rough when it warmed up. What brand MAP sensor did you use. Jeeps only like mopar sensors and parts store sensors usually will cause more problem's than they fix. The TPS and MAP sensor's work together and sometimes if it codes out a MAP sensor code the TPS could still be at fault. The TPS works in a range from 1 to 5 volt's and as long as it's in that range it will not throw a TPS code. I have replaced several TPS sensor's that fixed three of my jeeps that wasn't throwing any codes at all but were running like crap!!!
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.......
