this is the first time I have posted to a Forum. My jeep has just over 100,000K on it. When backing out of the garage the rpms go up but the speed remains very slow. Then after a few minutes it will work OK. I hope it is not the transmission??? Thanks
Welcome to the garage.
Does this problem happen only after first start of the day?
You know which transmission it has.
The 5-45RFE is known for this problem, which normally is caused by the cooler return filter. A check vlv doesnt close well and fluid from the torque converter drains back to the pan. The at first start it takes some time to fill the converter up again.

Thanks for your reply. I am not sure exactly what the transmission is, I have been told it is a Mercedes if that helps. If not, where would I look to find out what kind it is? It does happen at the start works find when driving around. Thanks
