AC Electrical Problems 2015 Grand Cherokee Overland

My 2015 Grand Cherokee Overland AC was very cold and I was sitting idling and I smelt something burning. I shut the car off and when I restarted it the AC wouldn't cool the compressor clutch was tripping in and out every 2 seconds. I turned it off and the next day I tried it again its cooling somewhat but not like it was originally and the compressor clutch is cycling every 8 to 10 seconds not long enough to get the vehicle cold. Has anyone had similar issues? And if so what was the burning smell? This is annoying the car is brand new with 6k miles.

don't know what the burning smell is, but a rapidly cycling compressor clutch usually means low refrigerant charge.

Taking it in tomorrow. Hopefully they can find something showing as a fault but the compressor clutch should engage for at least 30 seconds and then cycle mine is only doing 8 seconds.
