Always the "New Guy"

Hi all, just a quick explination about the post title. I'm on vehicle number 44 at this point so I feel like I'm always the new guy. I've jumped brands more times than I can count and not to give away my age, but my vehicle count exceedes my age. If there was ever such a thing as "Car Crazy", you are talking to him and from my viewpoint it's a good thing, from my wifes, not so much.

One tendancy that I have is that I go between "I need the fastest car on the planet and then let's modify it" to "why am I doing this, I drive like a grandpa and don't need all of this" to something in between. So, as you get to know me, you can be the judge.

Anyway, glad to be the new guy yet again and I'll give you a quick rundown of what I've owned over the past few years (complete list is definately a topic for another time).

2009 Mercedes Benz C55
2010 Grand Cherokee Laredo
2010 Grand Cherokee Laredo - Not a dupe, one was mine and one hers.
2010 Grand Cherokee SRT8 - Had my GC Laredo for 3 weeks and decided it wasn't fast enough.
2011 Honda CRZ - Decided my SRT8 was too fast and ate gas and I worked from home so "why am I doing this"
2011 Corvette - Decided, after 3 weeks of ownership, that the Honda Hybrid wasn't me so wanted something faster.
2012 Grand Cherokee Laredo (Sliver)
2012 Grand Cherokee Laredo (Black) - Again, not a dupe, yup...bought two more. One for me and one for her.

OK, now that you are all scrathing your head I'll save you some trouble, there is zero rhyme or reason why I do what I do so don't bother trying to figure it out. Bi-polar is my guess, but then again, just a guess.......

I actually really like this GC, the build quality is 100 times better than what even the SRT was that I had. Feels more like some of the MB SUV's (yes, owned a ML 320 and a ML500 - actually have a buddy who used to own a MB dealership so have owned several....now he owns a Porsche and McClaren dealership) that I've owned. Solid, great ride quality, etc. I really wanted another SRT8 as I think it was my all time favorite "best of all worlds" vehicle, but trading in a Corvette for two 2012 GC's only goes so far so I did the next best thing. Leased mine for two years and have started the countdown to the SRT at the end of the lease.

Anyway, I don't plan on doing much to this GC other than tinting the windows (done at this point) and possibly putting a set of springs on it to get the stance right (for me).

That being said, fire at will and I look forward to getting to know my latest toy.

Re: Always the "New Guy"

^^ Thanks, your picture makes me miss mine! Although, I say that about a lot of them, but the GCSRT was my favorite.

Now when I want to go fast I have to take the bike.......only on number two of those.

Ha, still have it at this point. I'll be in this one for the full lease term so will have it for the 36 months (minus the typical "you can get out of it early IF you buy another Jeep product"). Which I will because the next one is the SRTGC, just had to scrub off some inequity that I had in the Corvette since I only onwed it 10 months. Until then, I'll do some reversable bolt on's and enjoy the ride. When I get the "go fast" itch, that's when I jump on the bike!

Intersting is one way of putting it....or as I like to say, it's not a problem unless you admit it.
