Are the LED headlights effective?

I formerly owned 1 Explorer & 2 Jeep Grand Cherokees, & am considering a 2017 GC. I like the Summit a lot, but with recent NHTSA publicity on issues in general with ineffective headlights, including some LEDs, I'm curious what the experience is with those who have them on their Grand Cherokee. I've been checking this site out as I review my options, & it looks like a well informed group. Thanks!
