Back in a Jeep...

Hey y'all.

I recently traded two of my vehicles in on a 2012 GC Overland 4x4 with the Hemi (fully loaded, QD/QL). Here's to hoping it turns out to be a good decision

Leaving the dealership...

Traded in these two problem children - a 2006 Ram 2500 with a ton of custom touches (most obvious is the dually conversion with megacab fenders) and a 2006 300 SRT...

I got TONS of flack for doing the deal, but it's a better financial move since I now have more money to sink into the race truck I'm building!

Re: Back in a Jeep...

Congrats on the new to you GC! Very good choice.

The two you traded in were HOT! That SRT8 300 is sexy!!

Being that those 2 vehicles were somewhat older, why didn't you bother selling them private party? Just curious..

Re: Back in a Jeep...

Both titles were under one loan... it's hard to sell one and get the buyer to understand that I needed both to sell at the same time - it took the dealership finance office a few hours to finally get it. The SRT was a really fun car, but I needed a nicer riding 4-door with 4x4 capabilities for cross-country road trips.

Back in a Jeep...

Oh, that definitely makes sense. Besides that, I personally wouldn't want an SRT that was getting old, they become a money pit IMO. But I do keep anything past like 60k mi so that's just me.

I assumed you were from the Houston area from the pic at your house. Then I looked at your profile and sure enough lol I don't live in TX but am relocating within the next 3 months so I've been extensively house shopping.

Re: Back in a Jeep...

I've never put more than 65k on any vehicle. I owned that 2500 the longest out of all my fleet (5 years).

I'm not exactly in Houston, just northwest of it. Depending on where you're going to be working and the hours try to live as close as possible (if it's IN Houston). Commute times here can range from 30 minutes to 2 hours. When I was doing a contract job at one of the companies in town I went in ridiculously early and had only a 15 minute commute, but that was 5 AM. Currently it takes me 30 minutes to commute 10 miles on the west side.
