Welcome to the garage.
Seems that your fuel pump keeps running. Did you already try an other fuel pump relay? You can just swap it with a same relay in the box. It can be that the relay contacts are welded close.

Re: batt is drained by something

thanks we took the jeep to the dealer he replaced that relay, 2 weeks later the batt went dead. took the jeep back , they, said it was more than the relay as the fault.the dealer wanted 1700.00 dollars to replace the PCM and rewire some things ,so now im just trying to find a wiring diagram to trouble shoot myself. If would happen to know where I could find a wiring dia. I would appreciate it greatly. thanks

Re: batt is drained by something

I do have a WK wiring diagram,it is a part of the complete service manual. I can send you some of the pages where the fuel pump and relay are mentioned, but only tonight after i return home. Did you check the wiring yourself to see if there is any damage/chaving?

Re: batt is drained by something

I'd be surprised that the PCM is holding the fuel pump relay energized, but of course that is possible..

I'm betting you have a short in the wiring somewhere; the fuel pump relay gets run-start +12V on one side of the coil and the other side is grounded by the PCM to energize the relay..

PM me if you're up for trying to do some diagnosis yourself.

Re: batt is drained by something

thanks for the reply,as soon as I and my son get a day off work together, we can check some wiring in the jeep .wanted to check if the fuel pump runs continuosly or stops after the ign. switch is in the on position. My son says the pump runs the whole time, which ,in the haynes manual said this might be the pcm. also the dealer said they would have to do some wiring. At prob. 100.00 per hr. Id like to find the problem myself for that price.their is a chattering buzz around the top or the engine , more like a humming when the engine is started then stopped the buzzing humming continues until you remove the pos. side of the batt.need to remove the air cleaner and check out whats buzzin. also as soon as we find the time. so any imput would be more pieces to the puzzle thanks

Re: batt is drained by something

Pull C104 and see if the fuel pump still runs. (dunno what engine you have, but the connector is in the same place for 3.7/4.7/5.7)

Re: batt is drained by something

Just looked into the wiring diagram. Eventhough the PCM delivers the ground for the fuel pump relay, the power supply to this relay goes via the ignition switch. (circuit F944). So with the ignition in OFF, there should be no power to the F944 circuit and the pump can not run. So now that it continues to run, means that there is a problem with the ignition switch. See attached wiring diagrams.
