Dealer Installed Leather

Does anyone have experience with the dealer installing leather over the cloth interior in a new Grand Cherokee? The salesman I used told me that if I decided on leather they could order a "leather kit" and install it at the dealership.

My concern is with quality of the fit and if it will look as good as the factory installation.

I would imagine that is a very valid concern.

Are you sure they didn't mean replace? Normally the dealers use Katzkin.. Which is pretty good stuff.. Some say better then stock

A mate has done this on his GC and the leather is a better quality then fitted by the factory to the limited

Re: Dealer Installed Leather

Thanks all for the good advice.

I have investigated this further and have found out the salesman was incorrect on the installation. They do remove the existing covers and install the new covers using Katzkin. Also the dealer subs out the installation to an approved Katzkin installer. So I feel a little better about having this done.

I still have not made a final decision so any further suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks again for the good info so far!
