EVIC "4WD Overheated Temporarily Unavailable
I recently took ownership of a V6 Cherokee Limited with a tow package. It has just under 300 miles on the odometer. Most of the driving has been on country roads at break-in speeds with one brief highway trip of about 30 miles at about 60 mph. More or less what the manual advises.
Recently I started to get an EVIC warning "4WD Overheated Temporarily Unavailable" on an intermittent basis. Then a couple of days ago the warning went on full time unless I was in "sport" mode on the Select Terrain dial. These warnings occurred at various reasonable speeds on rural roads, not on a highway, and occurred almost immediately after starting the vehicle after a period of non-use (ie overnight) It has been returned to the dealer for evaluation.
Any idea whether this is a mechanical or electronic issue? Bit of a let down to say the least.
