First post, third Jeep

Howdy,

Just stumbled upon the Jeep Garage after closing a deal on a WK2 this week, but I've been a Jeep fan since we had a woody Wagoneer when I was a kid. Since then I've had a CJ7 304/TH400 hardtop on 35s and currently have a '95 YJ Wrangler 4.0HO with a bunch of mods that serves as a hunting rig.

Started looking around for a new commuter vehicle a week ago and to be honest the WK2 wasn't even on my radar screen. I was thinking about getting another sports sedan to replace the Acura TL-S that has given us 150k miles of great reliability and performance. A good friend mentioned that he had a GC that he was about to turn in off of a lease; we ran the numbers and it was a deal that I couldn't pass up.

It's a 2012 Mineral Gray Laredo X Hemi with 28k miles. My biggest regret is that it's a 2WD, but that's not a showstopper since we're currently in AL and I've got the YJ to get off-road. Grew up driving 2WD cars and wreckers in WI, so I guess I can deal with the two days of snow we get down here. It has the tow package so it will tote a utility trailer or our 5,000lb boat in a pinch.

Overall I'm excited to get into another Jeep and amazed with the improvements to the latest generation GC - it's a totally different truck than previous gens, especially in fit & finish.

Going to fly down to Miami this weekend and pick it up for the road trip back. Haven't had a new ride for myself in years, so I'm really looking forward to it.

Not going to go crazy with mods, but it will get a CAI and some sort of exhaust for sure and probably a Hemifever tune. Also going to transition to an Altitude look with black wheels & trim. The X package is a good head-start with the body-color mirrors & door handles.

Anyway, enough typing for a first post. I've found a lot of good info on here already and look forward to learning & contributing in the future.
