Frame swap

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum. I am working on a 1942 flat fender. After getting the jeep dismantled down to the frame I have found the frame to have some pretty bad rust. In addition, I was already planning on cutting the frame in the center and lengthening the jeep by 12".
I am now debating whether to:
1. Try and salvage / lengthen the current frame
2. Build a new frame using 2x4 tubing
3. Use a newer Jeep Wrangler frame. This is the one I am leaning towards but I'm not sure which model frame is the best fit for what I am trying to do. I think newer frames are longer so I would not need to lengthen?

Any suggestions ?
