Hello, My wife and purchased a 2011 Grand Cherokee to replace our tiring 2005 Buick Rainier. I was looking for a better tow vehicle for our boat, and she didn't like pickup trucks. She always loved these Jeeps, and anyone who is married, knows that if she is happy you are happier!
I found a mint condition Grand Cherokee in Ohio that only had 8,200 miles on it. Came with 2 years still remaining on the extended Mopar Warranty, Borla Cat-Back Exhaust, Mopar CAI, and a K5 integrated stealth radar detector. I flew out to Clevland and the previous owner picked me up from the airport, paid for it, and drove it home 7 hours away! I absolutely Love the air conditioned seats, keeps the swamp-A$$ at bay!
I put over 1,100 miles on it within a week of owning it. We took our annual vacation to Wisconsin, but this year I actually towed the boat instead of my father-in-law and his Tahoe. I couldn't be more impressed, towed like a boss (70mph, air on, cruise set, tow/haul mode set) 13.7 mpg pulling a 5,400+ loaded up boat and Jeep. Couldn't even come close to that in my old Buick (which is why we didn't use it for highway trips) Exhaust sounds great, especially under load.
Our other cars are a 2008 Pontiac G8 GT with (Headers, Exhaust, Tune, Brembos, etc...) and the wife's 2011 Ford Fusion work car.
I am sure I will be frequenting these forums for advice and knowledge.
I already replaced the black fog light bezels with chrome, and put in the Jeep slush cargo and floor mats. I am looking to get a front tow hook set, but $150 seems steep considering I will probably never actually use them.
