Question Hello all

I'm new to the garage and joined to see if anybody can help me locate something on my Jeep...Several Google searches so far tell me what I need to know for almost every other model/year except mine:

2012 Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.6L.

I've read MANY posts in several forums about the fuel system issues with most model years. I too am the victim of the never ending Check Engine Light. After replacing the gas cap (which did fit loose) the last reading from an ODB says to replace my Fuel Vapor Leak Detection Pump. I got the cheapie Duralast model. I've looked under the hood and around the gas tank like on other model years and cannot see this thing to replace it.

I fell in love with this model/year the minute I slipped behind the wheel...the ride with the independent rear suspension, the ergonomically correct layout of the driver seat/steering wheel/pedals (except you can't see half the instrument cluster when the wheel is in a comfortably-low highway position). Other than that minor oddity which all cars seem to have since they stopped using the tilt WHEEL and went to a tilt COLUMN instead, I want to keep this GC as long as possible, but these constant recalls and irritating Check Engine Light (which prevents auto start so it really bites on a cold Wisconsin day AND won't allow the cylinder management system to go into ECO mode to save a little fuel) are beginning to erode my trust in this thing. It sucks to have that anxiety every time you press the start button not knowing if it will start, what new warning will I get today, etc.

Can anybody tell me where to find the pump please and if necessary how to access it if its buried under shrouds and protection plates?

Re: Hello all

Thanks UKJeeper for the welcome.

And Governor...the first video looks like it's the one (at least I hope when I go pull that splash guard back). Thanks so much!!! I'll post an update. I'm hoping this keeps that CEL from coming on (until the next malfunction of something), time will tell...I've read several posts where that was just the beginning of the hunt for the actual leak point
