Hello All from South Africa
This is a great site and look forward to sharing and receiving advice. Hate to be negative with first post however, reading threads I will share my experience having received my new Grand V6 3.6 Overland. Got it last Friday 16 August, with 52 km on the clock, next day back at dealership, problem 1: all the wheels were not balanced, one had a "flat spot" Problem 2: Wheel alighnment was out.
Reason / excuse given, quote "Its because the veihcle was on a ship for 6 months" BS.. when one takes delivery these things must be 100%,
Problem 3 (as with other posts) Clicking sound from transmission, back to dealer, technician says drive it for 2000km the sound may go away...BS
Another suggestion given, "It may be the transfer Case Actuator"
If the sound doesn't go away they will exchange the actuator or transfer case. (This is supposed to be a brand new vehicle) I got under the car and found the drive shaft has rust.
Problem 4: Noise from inside engine, sound like fan belt or pulley (sqeaky sound). Suggestion given "Just squirt some Q20 (like a lubricant) on. I tried this, sound still there.
I was at a traffic light on a slight uphill, admiring my new car's inside, when I realised the car had rolled back, into the car behind me. Technician states that the car will only be stationary for 3 seconds before rolling back. Is this possible? Its an automatic with the newest techknowlogy, The "Hill Assist button" in the uconnect is ticked!!! If you take your foot off the brake you have 3 seconds to react and push the accelerator, and JERK forward.
I paid R 700 000.00 ($68336.10) for this. BS
I am not beeing negative, but just want to share my frustrations. Would someone please inform me when a solution to these faults have been found, i.e. software updates or whatever. P.S also tried the disconnect battery solution (did not work)
